Watchkeeper’s Cottage has a gate at the end of the garden into Gold Park with crazy golf, toddlers’ swing park, basketball/tennis court, skateboard park and acres of grass to have fun. Walk across the park and you are just a few yards from the beach, its location could not be better. Excellent year-round dog friendly beaches are only 10 minutes’ walk away, located either side of the main beach. Watchkeeper’s Cottage is fully equipped and offers light and very comfortable holiday accommodation. Centrally located, it is 100 yards from the heart of Mundesley village with shops and cafes, and just 300 yards away from the pub. Excellent bird watching, golf, bowling, fishing, cycling and walking nearby. The popular seaside town of Cromer is 7 miles away with its famous pier and holiday entertainment, the bustling market town of North Walsham is 5 miles and Wroxham, the heart of the Norfolk Broads, is just 12 miles away, where boat hire and river trips are available and very popular. Explore Cromer, 7 miles, with its pier full of entertainment, town centre with shops, cafés, restaurants and a golf course. Sheringham has an indoor swimming pool, town centre with shops and regular market days, and home to the headquarters of the North Norfolk Steam Railway with trips to neighbouring coastal resorts and golf courses. RSPB nature and bird reserve can be found along the coast road. Norwich city is within a 40-minute drive for excellent shopping malls, theatre, castle, museum, cafés and restaurants. The market town of north Walsham for shops, cafés, banks and supermarkets is a 15-minute drive. Stow Mill is situated on the outskirts of Mundesley, built as a flour mill Circa 1826, it has been beautifully restored and is well worth a visit. Discover the famous Norfolk Broads with miles of inland waterways and rich in wildlife and bird life. Wroxham, the capital of the Broads is 12 miles and offers daily boat hire and river trips, as well as riverside cafés, restaurants and shops. Mundesley, England- Lovingly restored in 2011 with great attention to detail, our barn is on the Paston Way footpath in a designated Quiet Lane and only a mile from the sea.
- Wildlife may be seen in the meadow from the window and the cheeky Sparrows and Long tailed tits seem to escape the Sparrow Hawk, as do the fat Wood Pigeons.
- Sandstone flooring (with underfloor heating) and no stairs make Milestone barn very suitable for children, dogs and those with limited mobility.
- 10% of bookings go to Many Tears rescue in South Wales
- There is no charge for dogs.
- The owners have a very flexible approach to numbers.
- The barn is completely open plan with glass in the upper truss of the wall that makes the bedrooms so you have full height all through and can see all of the roof.
- The two nearest pubs with food are The Vernon Arms, 1.5 miles at Southrepps. (it is listed in Norfolk doggie pubs) and The Crown 1 mile at Trunch (CAMRA).
- The beaches around our cottage are sandy and mostly dog friendly year round and there are miles of footpaths to explore.
- Wells, Blakeney and Stiffkey are a short drive away and North Norfolk is a bird watchers paradise.
