    Ironstone Cottage is in a peaceful village served by a little local shop, with the rolling heather clad moors just at the end of the road. These stone terraced cottages were built for the miners back in 1860. You can visit the nearby mining museum to find out more about the history, as this area was at the heart of the steel industry back in the 1800s. The name Ironstone Cottage was chosen to honour the history of the area, the owner’s father was employed to care for the pit ponies from the age of 11. Now the biggest draw to the area is tourism as guests explore the national park and the nearby beaches.     Sea Haven is a large spacious bungalow situated at Hunmanby Gap just over 3 miles from the popular seaside resort of Filey. The owner has taken great care in providing a fantastic holiday home for families to enjoy. The large open plan living and kitchen area has floor to ceiling patio doors taking advantage of the magnificent sea views and leading out onto a decked seating area and lawn. There’s a cosy dual sided wood burner separating the kitchen and the living/dining area. The kitchen has all the mod-cons expected of a house of this standard as well as a utility area. There are gardens to the front and the rear which are completely enclosed. For guests taking their four-legged friends, a dog crate is also provided.
    A 2-minute walk and you are on a stunning vast beach that stretches for over 3 miles to Filey and beyond. It’s a beach that never looks busy as it’s so wide and has lots of space for everybody. Great for the children or walking the dogs, or watching the horse riders galloping through the waves in the early morning. There is an excellent café that serves the beach guests and provides meals and drinks as well as ice creams. Filey is a very traditional seaside resort, not quite as busy as its neighbour Scarborough however it has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Filey is also the end of the Cleveland Way walk so you can enjoy a walk along the cliff tops to Scarborough following part of this very famous 109 mile trail. The seaside resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington are just a short drive away. Both resorts are very popular holiday destinations and worth a visit during your stay.
    The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is just a short drive where you can see the puffins and other migrating birds from the viewing points on the cliff tops. Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes and Sewerby Hall, Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and the wonderful Castle Howard are just a short drive.
