In a mini separate shepherd’s hut attached, is a fully fitted shower room. The enclosed garden offers a covered decked area with seating along with a separate seating area which presents a firepit and barbecue, both giving you a fantastic space to relax and have a drink al fresco style after a day’s adventuring.

The Shepherds Hut is dog friendly, and there are miles of walking trails and public footpaths to explore during your visit. The Heritage Coast, Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood’s Bay are all within easy reach. A visit to this area wouldn’t be complete without a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The historic city of York is under 40 minutes from Keldholme which is where you will find The Shambles, believed to be the inspiration behind Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter books an films. Whilst in York you can visit the medieval cathedral, York’s Chocolate Story or enjoy a little retail therapy. Blacksmiths Cottage offers a cosy stay within the delightful little village of Gillamoor, located just outside the market town of Kirkbymoorside. The cottage has been carefully converted to retain all its features from the days when it was the local blacksmiths shop, with its original oak beams, reclaimed brickwork and the fantastic blacksmiths forge fireplace.

All on the ground level, the property is ideal for couples who want to come away and relax whilst also having the opportunity to explore what this beautiful location has to offer. The cottage offers a very comfortable living area which is open plan with the kitchen and dining area, along with a good-sized double bedroom and small bathroom.

The gorgeous, unspoilt village of Gillamoor is famous for it’s ‘surprise view’ that reveals a breath-taking panoramic view across Douthwaite Dale to the moors above Farndale and Hutton Le Dale. Nearby you have a village inn which is a two-minute stroll from the cottage, serving local good priced food along with fine ales. The market town of Kirkbymoorside is three miles down the road offering local shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. A little further afield you also have the lovely towns of Helmsley and Thirsk, along with the fantastic North York Moors giving you an abundance of beautiful scenic walks and bike trails. The cottage is also well placed to visit many of the local visitor attractions including Riveaulx Abbey, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard. This semi-detached cottage has plenty of character, a large fireplace with a wood burner, exposed beams and reclaimed brickwork which offers both couples and families a luxury holiday retreat whilst being ideally located to explore all that the North York Moors has to offer.
The property is set over two levels. You enter the property through a small sunroom which was added to the property in 2021 by the owners, which has a seating are for two, and leads you through to a well presented and well equipped kitchen which has plenty of room for food preparation. There is also a large living area which has all the home comforts to give that lovely home from home feel.
The Second floor presents bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a choice of twin beds or a double. You also have a delightful bathroom which has a shower over the bath along with a heated towel rail. The bathroom is also tiled on the walls and floor.
The garden is set opposite the property, however it gives a lovely private setting which offers a barbecue and garden furniture. Helmsley is the closest town which is 4 miles down the road, meaning you have quick access to the local pubs, cafés, restaurants, shops, and Helmsley Brewery. Greenview also has a gorgeous little inn next door which serves great Yorkshire ales and mouth-watering food, it also has a little beer garden.
You have the stunning North York Moors National Park on your doorstep which is full of bike trails and fantastic, scenic walks, including the very popular Rievaulx Abbey. Other nearby towns include Malton, Pickering, Thirsk and York. If you fancied a day at the beach Scarborough is approximately a 50-minute drive.

Renovated to an exceptionally high standard in 2021, the cottage has some wonderful original features, in keeping with a barn conversion, including beamed ceilings throughout.

Stepping inside through the stable door you are greeted by a spacious open plan living space, with an authentic country feel throughout. The kitchen is well equipped, ideal for rustling up your favourite meals, perhaps using some of the fresh local ingredients which are grown on-site. There is comfortable seating on the sofas around the wood burner, where you can unwind and relax. Glass doors lead you out into the enclosed private garden, with a table and chairs as well as a barbecue, so that you can make the most of the sunshine. The garden leads down to the neighbouring woodland, attracting wildlife literally onto your doorstep. Back inside, you have a dining room adjoining the kitchen, as well as a ground floor wet room. Up on the first floor you have three bedrooms, the master double bedroom has an en suite shower. There is also a twin bedroom as well as a single, and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

This holiday cottage is in a magnificent location for a combined seaside and country holiday. Secluded and tranquil, guests are free to explore the woodland walk and the area is home to a variety of wildlife - including wild deer, owls and hares just to name a few. The property is set on a small traditional organic farm which grows vegetables and organic soft fruit. Guests are welcome to purchase the organic products grown here directly from the friendly owners. The property is environmentally friendly, heated by a unique wood-burning/solar heating system, and many of the practices throughout the farm and property use natural resources for their day-to-day running. An indoor heated swimming pool and hard tennis court shared between other properties, a small gym, as well as a children’s play area complete the facilities on offer.

The quaint cobbled streets of Robin Hood’s Bay, once a favourite haunt with smugglers, will keep children and adults entertained for hours with its shoreline full of strange and colourful pebbles. Castle Howard is within easy driving distance, and Flamingo Land (a popular theme park and zoo) is well worth the visit. The market town of Helmsley is just 6 miles away and has shops and inns as well as pretty walled gardens.
