You have your own private parking space outside at the front of the cottage, with an enclosed garden at the rear.

    Stepping inside, the hallway leads you into the open plan kitchen with a dining area. This beautiful kitchen is ideal for creating your favourite meals together, it is well equipped and complete with an integrated dishwasher and a large fridge/freezer for all your groceries. The lounge is separate, with a cosy sofa and an armchair around the feature electric stove. There is a separate toilet and a utility room. Up on the first floor you have two bedrooms, a double which has a window seat where you can watch the passing steam trains and a twin bedroom. There is also a family shower room, with a large walk-in shower. On the second floor you have the spacious master bedroom with a double bed.

    Pickering is an ancient market town with an array of shops and restaurants to choose from, as well as the castle ruins to explore and sits at the foot of the North York Moors National Park. Why not take a ride on the steam railway and travel through the rolling moorland to the coastal town of Whitby. Nearby you also have Dalby Forest, where you will find great walking and cycling tracks. The fabulous Go Ape, a high wire tree top adventure, is situated in the forest, or if you prefer to be closer to the ground, try the forest segways and ride around the forest tracks. Take a day trip to Flamingo Land theme park and zoo, only a few minutes’ drive away. Pickering is in the ideal location for visiting the East coast. Pretty, quaint little villages such as Thornton-le-Dale and Helmsley are within a few minutes’ drive, as well as the big cities of York and Hull. The seaside resorts of Scarborough, Filey, Flamborough, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay are all within a short drive.

In December they even have a themed Christmas Santa Special on the steam train. One of the highlights on the calendar in Pickering is the annual War Weekend, where as well as battle re-enactments, there is live music and the town seems to slip back in time.
