Up one flight of stairs you are greeted by two beautifully decorated and furnished bedroom’s all with luxurious bedding guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep with both offering plenty of storage. Also on the first floor is the lovely family bathroom which presents a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail. Railway Cottage is just a short stroll from the centre of Thirsk, giving you instant access to the pretty cobbled market square with a great choice of independent shops, pubs, and restaurants. Thirsk is the one-time home of the novel writing vet, James Herriot, and is an excellent base to explore the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Parks with both having fantastic bike trails and scenic walks. The Heritage Coast, Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood’s Bay can be reached un under 1.5 hours by car should you wish to have a day at the beach
