- Bellerby, EnglandThis period property, set at the edge of the village green with its streams and mill race running through, is in the picturesque village of Bellerby in the Yorkshire Dales. It offers a high standard of accommodation for a gathering of friends and family in one of the Dales’ prettiest villages. From the moment you open the bright red door and step into the entrance lobby you will enjoy a warm, welcoming, and homely feel from Cherry Tree Cottage. The stylish living room with ‘living-flame’ gas fire set in a Victorian cast-iron fireplace offers a beautiful space to relax with your party whether reading or enjoying playing games or just watching the Smart TV while lounging on the large comfy sofas and window seats.
A large open-plan kitchen/dining room with window seat, wooden and quarry-tiled flooring, has a stove effect electric fire offering extra warmth if required while sitting at the large table for your hearty meals. There is also a Freeview TV situated in this room. The cream shaker-style kitchen units are packed with all the crockery and utensils you could need to help you rustle up your meals. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and dryer and an extra fridge just down the hallway along with a downstairs toilet. Upstairs there are three well-appointed rooms. The Master bedroom is a spacious room facing the front of the property with a king size bed and ensuite shower room. The next bedroom offers a four-poster Double bed, also with an ensuite shower, and the final bedroom is a twin-bedded room facing onto the rear garden. The family bathroom with its freestanding claw and ball foot bath and separate shower cubicle completes the property layout.
The comfortable beds are presented with attractive linen over goose feather duvets (alternatives can be provided on request) for an extra luxurious feel along with quality hand and bath sheets. To the rear of the property there is an enclosed picket fenced garden which includes a lawn area and flower beds, along with a stone patio with a large table and chairs to enjoy sitting at while taking in a morning coffee or firing up the barbecue for an al fresco supper. The shared front driveway offers parking for two cars. Please leave room for an additional car for the adjacent property, Holly Cottage.
Bellerby is a village situated on the edge of The Yorkshire Dales National Park with a local pub serving a selection of real ales but currently no food and although there is no shop or amenities in the village the lovely market town of Leyburn is just over 1 mile away where an array of individual shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants are available. If you are looking to get out and stretch your legs, whether walking or cycling, there are abundant established public footpaths, bridleways, and cycle routes available in the local vicinity with spectacular scenery, open countryside, and pretty Yorkshire villages to explore.
Within easy driving distance there is an array of places to visit whether it’s the historic Castle Bolton, Richmond Castle, Jervaulx Abbey or the stunning Aysgarth Falls, there is something to suit everyone’s taste. The children will love Forbidden Corner with its quirky folly garden to explore or for the more adventurous why not visit the theme park, Lightwater Valley.
