    This pretty, detached stone cottage sits in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty only 5 miles from the foot of the Long Mynd on the Shropshire border, close to the Welsh Marches. The Onny Trail is on the doorstep leading to walks on Wart Hill, Hopesay Hill on the Shropshire Way, and the Jack Mytton Way which goes up over the long Mynd. It has an enviable position close to the road networks, yet has fields and woodland to the rear. The field across the road belongs to the owners and has the River Onny running along the bottom where you can relax and try your hand at some wild fishing. The cottage has its own private patio area with sole use of a six-seater hot tub.
    Shropshire is a great area to visit with plenty of activities and places to visit within a short distance. Some of the attractions include Acton Scott Working Farm, Secret Hills Discovery Centre, Stokesay Castle, and the vibrant market town of Ludlow with its castle, racecourse, weekly markets, and numerous food fairs held throughout the year. The Glider Centre on the Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley (National Trust) is a must for adrenaline lovers. The beautiful market town of Ludlow, well known for its food festival and Historic Shrewsbury is set on the banks of the River Severn and offers a great selection of shops, bars, and restaurants. While in nearby Condover there is an activity centre where family activities include low ropes, high ropes, kayaking, and laser tag. The Edge Adventure Activity Centre at Much Wenlock offers quad bike trekking, clay shooting, mountain boarding, and much more.
    For a more relaxed approach to your holiday there are some lovely towns and areas to visit such as Bridgnorth with the Severn Valley Railway, inland funicular railway, and the historic Ironbridge gorge and museums. From the property within an hour’s drive, there are Powys Castle, Berrington Hall, and Attingham Park all National Trust properties and just a little further you will find Chirk Castle, Erddig, and Croft Castle.     This holiday cottage, newly converted in 2019, is situated just outside of the village of Baschurch which is set near to Shrewsbury and Ellesmere. Baschurch offers pubs, takeaways, churches, a large convenience store and cash point. The local bus, which operates between Shrewsbury and Ellesmere, collects and drops off on Springfield Barns main drive allowing guests to leave the car behind.
    Shropshire is a gem of a county with so much to explore within easy reach. The north of the county offers the meres, mosses and canals along with the county town of Shrewsbury. Whereas the south of the county offers the stunning Shropshire Hills and food renowned market town of Ludlow. The county is home to Ironbridge World Heritage Site and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site and nine National Trust sites including Attingham Park.
    Shrewsbury is the birthplace of Charles Darwin and is a wonder of medieval black and white buildings. The town offers fantastic dining, individual shops, craft markets, museums, art galleries and the stunning Dingle within the Quarry Park.
    The barn is set within the boundary of the owner’s grounds and it neighbours The Parlour (ref UK10958) on one side. There is private parking for two cars within the main parking area and the property is accessed from the main drive.
    You step through the front door into a very modern, bright, airy open plan conversion with vaulted ceilings and beautifully restored original exposed beams. Firstly, into the fully fitted and equipped kitchen area with breakfast bar, oven, microwave, fridge and ample storage space. Then into the living area with dining table for two people and the peaceful living area with a 32” Freeview TV and sofa. To the rear of the living area is the sleeping area with a kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room. It is surprisingly spacious for a sleeps two conversion.
    There are two seating areas, one within the lawned garden and the other adjacent to the front door. Both areas are ideal for relaxing and barbecuing. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 700 yards.
