It is a superbly convenient holiday base for the world heritage city of Bath with its historic buildings, world famous theatre and river trips, and Bradford-On-Avon and its beautiful canals, as well as the city of Wells, Glastonbury Tor, Longleat House and Safari Park, Cheddar Gorge and caves, Stourhead and Wookey Hole. Close by is the village of Kilmersdon, home to the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill. Also the beautiful picturesque village of Mells is only 2.5 miles away. There are many wonderful country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area. There are several sandy and dramatic coastal beaches to the west and south, such as Lyme Regis, Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea. It also makes a perfect place from which to cycle, walk and play golf. Shop and pub with food 1½ miles.

Stepping inside through the triple bi-fold doors, the open plan studio layout works perfectly for your romantic retreat, with the extremely comfortable, raised kingsize bed enjoying the highest quality sheets for the ultimate night’s sleep. The kitchen area is well equipped and has granite worktops, an electric hob and full-sized oven, fridge with freezer compartment and a microwave, allowing you to cook a meal at any time of day and then relax on the sofa with a glass of wine or a cuppa! The shower room has been finished to the same high standard, with a large electric shower and heated towel rail for your comfort. Underfloor heating features throughout making the pod the ideal choice for a holiday at any time of year!
There is a working equestrian facility to the rear and if you can bear to tear yourself away, then you are within driving distance of many superb attractions in south Somerset. Nearby are the great attractions of the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, the Haynes Classical Car Collection, the enchanting Glastonbury Tor and Clarks Factory Village. There are numerous historic houses, the cathedral city of Wells and onto the delightful Cheddar Gorge and caves, while further afield is the historic spa city of Bath. There is a wealth of attractions and sights to enjoy and on your return perhaps stroll down to the local award-winning village pub, 1 mile away, to wine and dine.

On the outskirts of South Barrow and set in a peaceful scenic country location between Castle Cary and Yeovil, these two single-storey barn conversions, The Cottage (ref 27191) and The Barn (ref UKC2481) make ideal bases from which to explore south and central Somerset. Both are well presented, with lovely country views, and are the perfect places in which to relax and unwind. When choosing The Cottage or The Barn, you will have the luxury of your very own private hot tub, and The Cottage benefits from a cosy wood burner and underfloor heating in the shower room/bathroom.

On the doorstep you can visit the famous Haynes Motor Museum with its superb collection of classic cars; Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum with its exciting aircraft carrier deck experience and huge collection of naval planes, and many historic houses such as Montacute House. Slightly further afield are stunning Stourhead House and Gardens. Within easy driving are Glastonbury Tor, the designer outlet of Clarks Village, Wells cathedral city and the West Somerset Steam Railway, all of which offer great days out. Other family days out include Longleat House and Safari Park, Cheddar Gorge, Wokey Hole or exploring the world famous Jurassic Coast. Welcome to Whitney Cottage, a fabulous holiday home set in the wonderful Somerset village of Horton. Enter through the gate into your garden, which wraps around the house providing multiple seating areas, your own summerhouse with seating as well as your private hot tub, tucked neatly away giving you the utmost privacy while allowing you to enjoy your surroundings. Step inside where everything is on the ground floor, catering to all ages and abilities. The warm and bright living room has lovely comfortable sofas and a gas fire, perfect for those cooler evenings, however in the summer throw open the French doors and let the warm breeze flow in. The kitchen is open-plan with the dining area, with the former being extremely well equipped, while the bright and welcoming dining area is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal at any time of the day! Off the hallway, you will find the bedrooms, both finished to a high standard with cream and oak furniture, as well as a TV in each. The large shower room has a fantastic walk-in shower with both a large rainfall shower head and a handheld head for ease. Underfloor heating features throughout, making Whitney Cottage the perfect choice for your next break at any time of the year! A dog is welcome to come and stay ,but please be aware dogs must not be left unattended at any time in the cottage.
Just a 10-minute walk away you have the local bar and restaurant, which serves a range of local food and drink, or hop in the car to another pub, just a 5-minute drive, which serves gorgeous wood-fired pizzas and an amazing Sunday lunch. A 7-minute drive is another pub which serves a wonderful mix of traditional English and Caribbean foods. You will be spoilt for choice with things to do while staying at Whitney Cottage, with miles of walks from your doorstep exploring Somerset’s countryside. Venture further afield to one of the many National Trust properties nearby such as Montacute House and Barrington Court. The Jurassic Coast and Lyme Regis can be reached in around 30 minutes’, walk along the promenade, grab an ice cream and sunbathe, or head to Charmouth for some fossil hunting in the famous Jurassic Cliffs!

Daisy Cottage has cosy accommodation for two, including a fully equipped kitchen, a walk-in shower, a wood burner and a super kingsize bed which can be single beds on request. Children cannot stay at Daisy Cottage, apart from babies aged 9 months and under, for which a travel cot and highchair can be provided.
Within easy reach of Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole, Wells with its magnificent cathedral, the renowned Clarks Village shopping outlet at Street and National Trust properties at Clevedon Court, Tyntesfield and Montacute House. Splendid walks and cycle trails, and nearby Chew Valley Lakes is a modern reservoir and a mecca for birdwatchers and fishermen. Further afield are Exmoor National Park, the re-developed docklands and shopping of Bristol, and the memorable regency architecture of Bath. Beach 5 miles. Welcome to TH Hollow, a beautiful single storey stable conversion in the heart of the Somerset countryside at the foot of the Quantock Hills. Completed in 2021 and finished to a high standard, there is a central open plan living/dining/kitchen which has a fabulous, vaulted ceiling, comfortable furnishings and comes well-equipped with everything you need for the perfect stay. The kitchen area has electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge while the living area has a 43” Smart TV, perfect for relaxing of an evening.
The bedrooms lead off from the central living area with the master having a king-sized bed and bedroom two having a single bed. The large wet room has non-slip flooring, heated towel rail and shower. From bedroom two you have direct access to the Gym with cross trainer, Sauna and further shower room. Ease of access here has been carefully considered, with ramps leading in from both the front and rear entrances as well as wider doors inside, making this wonderful holiday home suitable for all abilities. To the rear is a large, enclosed courtyard with garden furniture (through access may occasionally be required by the gardener for grounds maintenance) and access from here to the utility area with washing machine and bike store.
TH Hollow also has exclusive use of the owner’s fantastic hot tub, covered heated swimming pool and tennis court at pre-arranged times (9am -1pm unless otherwise agreed with owner). Please note that the swimming pool is available from late-April until Mid-October. Your four-legged family members are welcome here also and have use of the owners fenced dog walking paddock, the perfect spot to soak up the views while your dogs run off some energy!
Set just outside of the village of Bishops Lydeard, with its village pubs and local store as well as access to the brilliant West Somerset Steam Railway, a great way to see not just the countryside but also the coast while you chug merrily along to Minehead. Alight here and spend the day exploring the shops, restaurants and beach. The county town of Taunton is easily reachable within 15 minutes or head over to Exmoor and explore the wonderful villages, walk over the moors and have a cream tea in one of the many tea shops on route. Beach 12 miles.
