    The School House is a truly wonderful detached, Grade II listed stone built cottage situated in a rural position in the hamlet of Bradnop, less than 1 mile from the picturesque Peak District National Park. Thoughtfully and extensively renovated throughout to offer spacious, comfortable accommodation and even boasts its very own private hot tub for guests use. Many of the original features have been carefully retained including beams, exposed stone walls and fireplace to name but a few. There is a well-kept enclosed garden at the front of the property and a paddock area to the rear.
    The small and pretty rural hamlet of Bradnop is situated on the western edge of the Peak District National Park. Close by you will find the market town of Leek with its array of antique shops and quirky crafts. The thriving picturesque market town of Ashbourne and the spa town of Buxton are within driving distance. For families and the more adventurous, Alton Towers is only a 5 mile drive away.
    Nearby you will find superb walks with Dovedale, the beautiful Manifold Valley, and the popular Manifold Cycle Track, all within easy reach. There are lots of pretty villages to explore one being Hartington where you will find tasty local cheeses in the village cheese shop, also close by there are several pubs serving fantastic home cooked food. Horse riding is also available nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

    Gretna is located on the outskirts of Longnor, a village nestled within the Peak District hills. Although the bungalow itself is quite rural, you are just a few minutes’ drive into the centre of the village where there is a pub and shop, around 5 miles is the nearest town of Buxton which has many independent shops, cafeé, and a variety of restaurants plus the opera house, which has shows on weekly, and the Pavillion Gardens which are lovely to walk around. There are other towns close to Gretna such as Leek, Ashbourne, Bakewell and the Chatsworth Estate. If you are an avid walker, you will be spoilt for choice, step outside the property and immediately be surrounded by the rolling hills offering endless countryside walks, if you prefer to follow a trail and cycle route you are just a small number of miles from the High Peak Trail which is relatively flat and has pub and ice cream stops on route.
    As you arrive at Gretna you will find ample parking down the driveway for all guests’ cars. There is a private back garden with comfortable furniture to sit on whilst spending the morning planning your exciting day ahead. There is a large living room with enough seating for all guests on the L-shaped sofa, which conveniently faces the Smart TV and wood burner; the views from this room are stunning and far reaching, especially on a clear day. The views can also be seen from the kitchen, which has all the appliances and equipment you should need to cook your favourite meals, and includes a dishwasher to ease clearing up; there is a dining table that can be extended to seat more guests. The property has three bedrooms, made up of a king, a double and a single with a pull-out bed option (for a child). There is a family bathroom with shower over the bath and an additional toilet. The property also offers a gym which is shared with other properties on the land, inside the gym is a designated study area should you need somewhere peaceful to do a few hours work.
