With superb walking from the door into Dimmingsdale Nature Reserve and the Churnet Valley, with its steam train, this peaceful comfortably furnished semi-detached farmhouse is ideal for bird watchers yet only 3 miles from Alton Towers. Kings Barn is a lovely barn conversion which has been thoughtfully renovated in 2022 by the owner and offers guests space and comfort. Although it has retained some of its traditional features, it also has a modern and contemporary feel. On the ground floor is a living room with comfortable seating, Smart TV and patio doors which lead to the side of the property, a further reception room, again with comfortable seating and a Smart TV, a well-equipped kitchen/dining room and a utility room. Also on the ground floor are two of the bedrooms and the family bathroom. Upstairs are a further three bedrooms, accommodating up to 10 guests. Being close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, the Royal Air Force Museum in Cosford, Weston Park, the historic town of Shrewsbury, the beautiful Shropshire Hills and many National Trust and English Heritage sites, there is plenty to do. For those looking for a day out shopping, Shrewsbury town is half an hour away. Cannock Chase, one of England’s finest natural landscapes famous for its scenery, wildlife and rich history, is only half an hour away. It offers walking, cycling and horse riding in a superb setting, and in August 2022 was the venue for the Commonwealth Games cross-country mountain bike racingShropshire has an array of outdoor activities on offer including kayaking, canoeing, cycling, walking, gliding, golf, fishing and horse racing. The area is never short of places to visit with a plethora of castles, abbeys, farms, museums, discovery centres, gardens, parks and historic houses.

Easter Lane Cottage is a beautiful, historic property, set in a quiet spot on the edge of the picturesque village of Butterton in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the Peak District is within easy reach. Tissington Trail - popular with walkers and cyclists - is only 5 miles away. The local inn in Butterton is less than a quarter of a mile from the cottage and offers delicious food and ales. The property has been renovated to a high standard in 2023 with sustainable materials and underfloor heating to the ground floor.

A wonderful array of amenities and a selection of charming walks can be enjoyed straight from the front door. A short drive away is the lovely market towns of Lichfield and Ashbourne. Lichfield retains its original character with a beautiful cathedral, Samuel Johnson’s home, a centre dedicated to Erasmus Darwin, St Mary’s Centre (where the Staffordshire Millennium Tapestries are on permanent display) and wonderful places to stop and enjoy some food. The market town of Ashbourne is worth visiting, with its original cobbled lanes, old market stalls and grand Georgian buildings which are home to a good selection of restaurants, interesting shops and traditional coaching inns. Why not visit nearby Burton-upon-Trent? Here you can enjoy a fascinating day discovering the art of brewing beer, whilst the National Memorial Arboretum is just a short drive away.
