Leith Hill Place and Tower is a popular historic National Trust site, and is the south of England’s highest point, offering breathtaking views. It was once a favourite visiting place of Charles Darwin, the famous naturalist, and he conducted experiments in the grounds, and it now attracts visitors worldwide who come to see the popular gardens. Ralph Vaughen Williams, the renowned composer resided there, with his wife who was from the Wedgwood family, known for their porcelain.

For guests staying in December and January, note that work in the neighbouring garden is ongoing, with a new hedge being planted. While the neighbouring garden may be more visible than usual during this period, it remains discreetly situated at the far end of the cottage’s garden, away from the house.
