The 11th-century Norman and Medieval castle, where the village derives its name, has long since disappeared but the earthworks still remain in the nearby deer park. The nearby market towns of Pershore and Evesham have a range of shops, restaurants and pubs and are only 3 and 5 miles away, and can also be accessed by the local bus route which departs from outside the village pub.

It’s in a great location to see many different areas and attractions as lies halfway between Stratford Upon Avon and Banbury. The village enjoys a local pub, and more amenities can be found in neighbouring Tysoe or into Kineton. The beautiful towns and villages of the North Cotswolds can be reached in approximately 10 minutes’ drive where you can explore Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold or Woodstock, home to Blenheim Palace.
The National Trust’s Upton House and Gardens, Charlecote Park, Farnborough and Hidcote are all within easy reach. Compton Verney is just over 5 miles away where you can discover the art gallery with its many collections and exhibitions and enjoy the park with its labyrinth, bird hide, pond dipping and playground.
