If you want to explore the area a little further this is a fabulous coastline to stretch your legs east to Climping and Littlehampton’s West Beach or west to Bognor Regis Pagham and Pagham Harbour. This part of the coastline is a haven for unusual birds and wildlife with Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve and Chichester Harbour a little further to the west, both being Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pagham Harbour is an internationally important site for nature conservation while Chichester Harbour also combines its wildlife attractions with sailing centres such as Itchenor and Bosham.
Just 6 miles north is Arundel, a historic market town dominated by its symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as restaurants and tea rooms. Arundel Castle is the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk and is set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens.
