Dating back to the 17th Century, Hob Cote is a superb semi-detached stone built cottage in a peaceful and picturesque location just 1-mile from artsy Hebden Bridge. Completely renovated throughout in 2021, the cottage and surrounding grounds are simply stunning and come complete with private hot tub. Inside you’ll find beamed ceilings, an impressive stone fireplace boasting a wood burner and stylish wooden panelling to the walls. The three bedrooms are beautifully decorated and super comfortable, which with the peaceful surroundings guarantee a great night’s sleep.
Outside the grounds are delightful and offer stunning far reaching views. To the front you’ll find a south facing patio complete with a Lazy Susan garden set, perfect for sociable meals. To the rear however is the real pièce de resistance. As you step outside the back door you’re greeted by a carefully thought out barbecue and hot tub area offering both privacy and shelter. Beyond this is a further multi layered garden which quite uniquely has a hut at the top complete with wood burner, where you can sit and enjoy the views of the wooded valley below, no matter what the weather.
The location in Midgehole is semi-rural and on the edge of the National Trust owned beauty spot of Hardcastle Crags. Here you can stroll amongst woodland, waterfalls and streams and visit the café at Gibson Mill which offers a range of snacks. Countless other public footpaths are available in the area including the picturesque river path down into Hebden Bridge, which was the UK’s first ‘walkers are welcome’ accredited town. In Hebden Bridge you’ll find a bustling collection of independent shops, bars and cafés as well as a 1920’s Art Deco cinema and a live music venue. Hebden Bridge train station is in the centre of the town and offers a direct service to both Manchester, 30 minutes, and Leeds, 60 minutes, and both the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks can be reached in around an hours drive.
Due to the age of the property it should be noted that head height is restricted through some doorways; and the stairs are not suitable for guests with restricted mobility, or young children. The stairs are steep, open sided and the treads are not consistent in size.

Haworth is a charming village located in the Worth Valley, West Yorkshire, England. The village has a rich literary history, and you can explore the Brontë Parsonage Museum to learn more about the lives and works of these remarkable writers. Haworth is known for its cobbled streets, historic buildings, and traditional Yorkshire charm. You can stroll through the village and discover quaint shops, cafés, and local pubs serving traditional Yorkshire ales and hearty meals. For nature lovers, the Worth Valley offers breathtaking landscapes and scenic walking trails. If you visit during July, you have the chance to experience Holmfirth Art Week. You must visit the legendary Picturedrome, make sure to check their schedule as this historic cinema dates to 1912 and hosts a range of films, live music events, and comedy shows. Holmfirth is also home to many charming pubs where you can relax with a drink, and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. Finally, being on the edge of the Peak District National Park means there’s ample opportunities for walking and cycling with scenic trails such as the Holme Valley Circular or the Trans Pennine Trail.

West View Farm provides everything you need to enjoy your time away. Entering the property, you are greeted by an allocated area to store your muddy boots and coats with a lovely decorative fire. Wander through to find a large games room benefitting from a multi-game table to enjoy and make memories. On this floor you can also find a toilet and a utility room with a washing machine and fridge/freezer.
Wander upstairs to find an open living room with a gas fire, a small step to a dining area. The lounge benefits from sumptuous sofas and two chairs. Enjoy the warmth of the fire as your favourite show or movie plays out on the TV after a long day exploring the area. Your fully fitted kitchen awaits you providing everything you need to rustle up those home-cooked meals with a gas hob and electric oven, fridge and microwave. A couple of miles away is the town of Haworth, known for its links with the Bronte sisters; here you will find the Bronte Parsonage Museum, Bronte Waterfall and the famed walking trail of Bronte Way. It has Victorian buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants, plus close by is the National Trust-owned East Riddlesden Hall and many walking routes in the area. Catch a ride on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and travel on steam or diesel trail through the surrounding countryside and villages, made famous as locations for the filming of ‘The Railway Children’. Venture to the idyllic market town of Skipton and uncover the gateway to the Dales, before continuing to Hebden Bridge, famously used in the filming of the popular BBC series ‘Happy Valley’. Within reach by car is the popular town of Harrogate, a historic town filled with attractions for the whole family, and the inviting spa town of Ilkley.

Upstairs, the bedroom has the most beautiful beamed, vaulted ceiling, a comfortable double bed, and the convenience of en-suite facilities. Outside there’s a private parking space available, however those with larger vehicles will need to take caution.
Holmfirth is a beautiful ‘picture postcard’ town with plenty to see and do, including pet-friendly pubs and cafés where you can enjoy a meal and a drink. Probably best known as the back drop to the long running ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ TV series, quite excitingly, fans of the show can check out iconic locations such as Sid’s Café, Nora Batty’s steps and jump on board the ‘Summerwine Magic Tour’. Keen cyclists can re-create the Holme Moss Summit Climb as seen in 2014 Tour de France, and for evening entertainment, Holmfirth Picturedrome is reported to be the North of England’s finest intimate music venue. Quite uniquely, Holmfirth is also home to its very own vineyard where you can take a tour or grab a bite to eat. Of course all of this is on the northern edge of the Peak District National Park meaning opportunities for walkers are endless.

One of these bedrooms is made up with twin beds that can be zipped to make a kingsize on request, the other has twin singles. There is also a further bathroom with full bath and shower. The garden will be a firm favourite with guests, with space for children to play and adults to relax. It has its own private hot tub to soak in, timber framed outdoor cooking area with pizza oven and BBQ for al fresco dining. After a scenic walk, leave your boots in the handy boot room, with plenty of hooks for wet coats and towels for muddy paws.

Both villages can be easily reached on foot or bicycle along the canal directly from the property. With an easy 20 min walk you can enjoy the numerous café’s, bars and local shops, including some excellent artisan bakeries for that special breakfast treat. Just a short walk through adjacent fields will bring you to the Olive Branch Inn with its relaxed atmosphere, fine dining and outdoor seating to take in the beautiful views. The property is burrowed amidst the National Trust Marsden Moor Estate; guests will be spoilt for choice with more than 5000 acres to explore. Whether you prefer to explore the landscape on foot, by bike or through the lens of a camera there are plenty of things to see and do. The rugged landscape and steep climbs are the perfect challenge for keen mountain bikers, while others might prefer to wander alongside the water’s edge of the canal and retrace ancient packhorse trails to Standedge Tunnel with it’s fascinating Visitor Centre – where you can learn about the longest, highest and deepest canal tunnel in Britain. Marsden Train station can be reached on foot or just a few minutes drive away and offers easy access to Manchester (36mins) and Leeds (45mins) for that Big City vibe.

Digley Reservoir and Holmfirth Vineyard are both around a 10-minute drive from the property and further afield you’ll find attractions for all interests within easy reach. These include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth Gallery, Nostell Priory, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House, all within an hour’s drive, as are the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

Goosander Cottage is around ½ mile from Holme village where you’ll find a cosy pub serving food and being set in the rolling hills of the Peak District there are walks straight from the door. Keen cyclists can also recreate routes from the Tour de France 2014 including the iconic Holme Moss which is literally a stone’s throw away. Holmfirth is around 3 miles from the cottage, and anyone familiar with the TV comedy ’Last of the Summer Wine’ may recognise the area as the backdrop from this. In Holmfirth you’ll find a wide selection of cafés, bars, pubs and restaurants to suit the majority of tastes, together with a century old picture house and live music venue, and also a vineyard. Huddersfield is around 8 miles away and home to the UK’s first eco-spa, and a whole host of Peak District towns, villages and attractions are within easy reach to explore.

This beautiful semi-detached, 16th-century, Grade II listed cottage can be found in the delightful Calderdale village of Warley, West Yorkshire, in a conservation area. Surrounded by stunning countryside, the cottage offers outstanding views over the stunning rural surrounding with scenic walks straight on the doorstep. There are also two pubs within walking distance. With exposed stone and wooden beams throughout the cottage you have that instant country living feel, the owners have gone to great lengths to ensure the property is a home from home.
The cottage is set over two levels, you enter into the dining room which is a lovely space to sit and have a family meal in front of the gorgeous wood burner. Opposite the dining room is the comfortable and cosy living room where you can relax again in front of another wood burner which will keep you warm on the colder evenings. On the same floor you have a well-presented, well-equipped kitchen which has plenty of room for food preparation. On the ground floor also is a shower room with shower cubicle, heated towels rail, toilet, and wash basin. Up one flight of stone steps is the beautifully presented master bedroom which presents a plush kingsize bed and Smart TV. The second bedroom also has a kingsize bed and Smart TV. The third bedroom has a double bed with all three bedrooms having luxury linen and fantastic views of the surrounding area and guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep. The second lovely family shower room offers a shower cubicle and heated towel rail, a great place to have a soak after a day’s exploring. To the rear of the cottage, you have a private patio area with garden furniture and barbeque, a pretty place to sit and have a glass of fizz alfresco style and take in the fresh countryside air.
A 10-minute drive will take you to the historic town of Halifax, where you will find ample amenities including many great places to eat and drink. Halifax is also home to the unique Grade I listed Piece Hall where scenes from BBC’s Gentleman Jack were filmed, as well as Eureka! the National Children’s Museum perfect for families, and the Halifax Minster. Slightly further afield is the charming and vibrant market town of Hebden Bridge which can be reached in around a 15-minute drive, as can Haworth, most famous for its Brontë heritage. Set between the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, both can be reached in around an hour, together with the bright lights of both Manchester and York. There is also a country style pub within walking distance from the cottage which serves local ales and good old pub grub. The only issue you will have with this staycation is fitting everything in so why not book a few extra days!
