What was once three terraced weavers’ cottages, has been completely renovated to one spacious, luxury holiday cottage boasting seven en-suite bedrooms.
Once inside you’ll find unique features that reflect the age of the property have been wonderfully blended with modern day touches. The wood burner for instance is complemented by underfloor heating on the ground floor, a claw foot bath has been paired with walk-in showers and one bedroom even including an award winning king size study bed as featured on George Clarke’s amazing spaces. Once outside the views are simply unrivalled. Pride of place in the garden you’ll find a hot tub giving you ample opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy the rolling countryside away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Goosander Cottage is around ½ mile from Holme village where you’ll find a cosy pub serving food and being set in the rolling hills of the Peak District there are walks straight from the door. Keen cyclists can also recreate routes from the Tour de France 2014 including the iconic Holme Moss which is literally a stone’s throw away. Holmfirth is around 3 miles from the cottage, and anyone familiar with the TV comedy ’Last of the Summer Wine’ may recognise the area as the backdrop from this. In Holmfirth you’ll find a wide selection of cafés, bars, pubs and restaurants to suit the majority of tastes, together with a century old picture house and live music venue, and also a vineyard. Huddersfield is around 8 miles away and home to the UK’s first eco-spa, and a whole host of Peak District towns, villages and attractions are within easy reach to explore.

The owners of the property offer a unique experience where they will happily give you a tour of the tower (once one of the original Beacons) and tell you the story and interesting history of the church. There is a variety of activities available in the area to please all the family. You have country footpaths, quaint shops/delicious pubs, and fascinating places to visit including the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the home of the Wesleys’. There are significant landmarks locally in the region from Cannon Hall Farm; Emley Tower, Wentworth Woodhouse, the National Coal Mining Museum, and the home of Emily Bronte, to Art Exhibitions, ski slope, local festivals, Cawthorne (an historic village), well-manicured gardens and countryside walks, to name a few. In under an hour, you can be in Harrogate, York, Chatsworth, or Sheffield. Beneath the quiet exterior of country living beats a heart of choral tradition, cycling and rambling for nature lovers, coffee shops and fascinating places to visit.

Haworth is the perfect place to visit and has everything to offer to all our visitors. Try mooching around all the quirky Main Street Shops, or watching the world go by outside a wide variety of cafes, bars and restaurants, there are so many to choose from!
If walking is your thing, Penistone Hill and the surrounding countryside are stunning walks in all seasons, winter being our favourite! Travelling further afield you will also find St. Ives Estate, Bingley, Altar Rock, Five Rise Locks, Cliffe Castle, Harlow Carr at Harrogate, East Riddlesden Hall, and on our very own doorstep The keighley & Worth Valley Railway, and the Bronte Parsonage Museum. Located just off the centre of Penistone is Spring Cottage on The Green, where you are a short 8-minute walk from the town’s local amenities which include restaurants, pubs and shops.
After a fun packed day exploring, retreat home to Spring Cottage where there is an open-plan living room and kitchen on the ground floor. It has all the essentials required to cook up a delicious meal, then relax and unwind on the comfortable sofa with the electric wood burner creating a cosy atmosphere, with a projector to watch your favourite shows. Upstairs there are two bedrooms made up of a double and a twin, and a family bathroom. To the front of the house is a small garden area with a bistro set, perfect for al fresco dining, or enjoying a morning coffee. There is parking available in the driveway across from the property and ample roadside space also.
Penistone is surrounded by beautiful and historic countryside, there are both easy and challenging walks, or if you want to make a full day of it then walk the Cal-Der-Went, which links the River Derwent to the River Calder and crosses three counties.

This traditional two bedroom cottage is situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park only 5 minutes drive from the centre of Holmfirth and 20-minute walk. The property enjoys an elevated position with beautiful views across the Holme Valley, fields and woodland areas. Inside there are two bedrooms, a double bedroom and Kingsize bedroom with single sofa bed; a cosy living/dining room with modern day touches such as Wi-fi and Smart TV; kitchen and storeroom. Holmfirth and the surrounding areas are home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the Yorkshire Pennines and most recognisable as the location for the record breaking ’Last of the Summer Wine’ TV series. Exploring the picturesque town you’ll discover a wide range of amenities, shops, bars, restaurants as well as the renowned live music venue The Picturedrome. There are miles of open countryside, public footpaths, reservoir walks to explore for walking enthusiasts and cycling enthusiasts can recreate routes from the Tour de France 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire; Wine enthusiasts can visit Holmfirth Vineyard for tasting and afternoon tea.
Being located on the edge of the Peak District National Park means there’s ample walking and cycling opportunities with miles of open countryside to explore. Additional attractions within reach, include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Hepworth Gallery which is a 30-minute drive away and several heritage properties including Nostell Priory, National Trust, located 45 minutes’ away, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House which are all 1-hour drive. For pampering, the Titanic Spa in Huddersfield is just 20 minutes’ away. For children, Canon Hall Farm offers extensive animals, together with a farm shop and café. Finally, the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester, and Sheffield are all roughly an hour’s car journey. There really is something for everyone!

Hodroyd Hall is a beautiful, grade II listed private country house in the picturesque hamlet of Felkirk, in West Yorkshire. The earliest reference to Hodroyd is in 1144 and the Hall is steeped in history from its days as a monastic building, to the country seat of the Monckton family, Today, it is once again a family home and offers a unique combination of country house tradition with the informality of family life. The impressive property boasts a fabulous hall with sweeping staircase, a library, lounge area, snug, formal dining area, an orangery large kitchen breakfast room plus many more rooms to explore. There are six beautiful bedrooms at Hodroyd Hall, all unique and with their own story. Guests will be able to stay in the Cromwell Room where Oliver Cromwell reputedly convalesced during the Civil War, or relax in The Queen’s Chamber, where legend has it that Mary Queen of Scots rested during her journey to Fotheringay Castle.
The Berrie Suite is named after the strawberries that were grown on site in the 1640’s - the earliest recorded cultivation in Yorkshire! The outside of the property offers guests a courtyard area to enjoy the Summer sun and a landscaped garden to relax in. You can’t fail to enjoy your stay at Hodroyd Hall, as everything is on your door step whether you want activities, entertainment, retail, countryside, or culture. For those wanting to blow the cobwebs away, Pugneys Water Park is 15 minutes away, where you can take sailing courses, hire boats or ride a miniature railway.
Carlton Marsh Nature Reserve is also just 5 minutes away and Fitzwilliam Country Park is 15 minutes away. Fitzwilliam train station has free car parking from where you can travel to Wakefield, Leeds or Sheffield in 30 minutes. If you want to go further afield, York, Skipton, and Scarborough are easily reachable. If going by car there are many local attractions, including the world-renowned Hepworth Gallery, Wentworth Castle, Pontefract Castle, Wakefield Castle, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and Cannon Hall; all can be reached in just 20 minutes, meaning you really are spoilt for choice. In nearby Wakefield, you can enjoy the emerging food and craft ale scene or visit for the rhubarb festival. Finally, slightly further afield a 30-minute drive will take you to the edge of the Peak District National Park and everything it has to offer. For more serious retail adventures the shopping centres of both Meadowhall and White Rose, Trinity Leeds are within easy reach. Newsagents 1½ miles, shops, supermarket 2½ miles, pub ¾ mile and restaurant 4 miles.

This beautiful stone-built cottage offers a comfortable stay in the charming World Heritage Site of Saltaire, which is full of history, character and stunning architecture. The village is named after Sir Titus Salt who built a textile mill, known as Salts Mill and this village on the River Aire back in the 1800s. There are many reasons why you should visit Saltaire from the spectacular architecture as you wander around the village, to the independent shops and restaurants scattered around the village. There is world class art on display at Salts Mill with one of the largest collections of David Hockney’s, and all surrounded by countryside and moors.
Bronte country is also nearby, offering lots of wonderful walking routes across the moors and, for those keen on cycling, why not try a section of the Tour de France route that runs through Keighley and Haworth? For a more relaxing way to explore the area, hop on the Worth Valley Steam Train from Keighley Station, which takes you on a 5-mile journey through the Haworth moors and on to Oxenhope, once home to the Bronte sisters. The village of Haworth, 8 miles, is well worth a visit with its pretty cobbled streets lined with bunting and old-fashioned windows giving you a glimpse of the wares within. There is an array of antique shops, independent bookstores, pavement cafés and restaurants, plus the Bronte Parsonage Museum.
The market town of Skipton, also known as ‘The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, 15 miles, is another great day out and can be easily accessed by the train station located at the end of the road, with its tempting selection of bars and restaurants, a medieval castle and bustling street markets. You can also take a stroll along the Leeds & Liverpool canal that runs through, or simply watch the barges chug through from a bar overlooking the water. The only issue you will have is trying to fit everything in so why not book a few extra days? Pub 1 mile.
