Perfectly located in Menston, just outside of the picturesque market town Ilkley, Brookleigh Farm Cottage provides beautifully presented luxury accommodation combined with charm and character. Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this a perfect retreat for walkers, cyclists and ramblers, with plenty of walks, cycle paths, bridleways and established footpaths into picturesque countryside. Dating back to Roman times, Menston is on the ancient Roman Road that linked York with the garrison at Ribchester. Nowadays you will find the village dotted with a selection of local shops and country pub. Nearby you will find the picturesque market town of Ilkley with an abundance of restaurants, pubs, pavement cafés and independent shops that can all be easily reached; as can legendary Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms where afternoon tea is a must. Harewood House, just 15 minutes away, is a fantastic day out offering impressive art collections, a magnificent rare bird garden and 100 acres of exquisite gardens to explore. For Emmerdale fans, you’ll also find the Set deep within the grounds of the estate.
Bolton Abbey can be reached in around a 20-minute drive and offers 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside to explore. The charming market town of Skipton, also 20 minutes away, is home to an ancient castle, cobbled high street and colourful street market. Leeds city centre can be reached in just 20 minutes from the local train station where you can enjoy luxury shopping and sip rooftop cocktails at Harvey Nichols. Haworth village, once home to the Brontë Sisters, is another major tourist attraction in the area and can be reached in around a 30-minute drive. York can be reached in an hour and for those looking further afield, the Lake District National Park is within a 2 hour drive.

Inside the hut, you are greeted by an open-plan design oozing luxury adorned with antique treasures incorporating the living space with a cosy log-burner, a comfy kingsize bed with storage and a fully fitted kitchen and dining area. An oak door leads to a family bathroom benefitting from a shower and wall-mounted heated towel rail. While away the evening enjoying freshly cooked pizza on the wood-fired pizza oven, toasting marshmallows on the Kadai firepit or soaking in the beautiful ‘Hikki’ hot tub while stargazing at the night sky with only the comforting sound of sheep or owls calling to break the silence. When sleep calls, sink into the luxurious kingsize bed with Egyptian cotton bed linen and rest your head and recharge ready to explore all that this outstanding area has to offer the next day. Be sure to visit the nearby village of Haworth, home of the famous Brontë sisters and the inspiration for many of their famous novels; Haworth is an undisputed literary mecca, attracting visitors from all around the world. With its historic cobbled Main Street, iconic Brontë Parsonage and rolling moors, the picturesque proportions of this Airedale village exude a vintage charm that makes you feel you’ve stepped into another era. There are also a wide variety of quaint eateries and pubs for refuelling before leaving the village and exploring the lonely moors beyond where the Brontë sisters found their inspiration. Further afield, such gems as Malham Cove, Ingleton Waterfalls, or the bustling market town of Skipton await and are sure not to disappoint. Both shepherd huts can be booked together to accommodate up to 4 guests.

Weavers Cottage is a wonderful pet-friendly holiday cottage less than a mile from the very centre of the super vibrant market town of Holmfirth. Comfortable and cosy it makes the perfect base for a getaway with or without your furry four-legged friends. Equipped with everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay, the open-plan living area features a comfortable sofa which also converts to a sofa bed suitable for a child. There’s a Smart TV and the kitchen is well-equipped with all the utensils you need to whip up a delicious meal. Upstairs, the bedroom has the most beautiful beamed, vaulted ceiling, a comfortable double bed, and the convenience of en-suite facilities. Outside there’s a private parking space available, however those with larger vehicles will need to take caution.
Holmfirth is a beautiful ‘picture postcard’ town with plenty to see and do, including pet-friendly pubs and cafés where you can enjoy a meal and a drink. Probably best known as the back drop to the long running ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ TV series, quite excitingly, fans of the show can check out iconic locations such as Sid’s Café, Nora Batty’s steps and jump on board the ‘Summerwine Magic Tour’. Keen cyclists can re-create the Holme Moss Summit Climb as seen in 2014 Tour de France, and for evening entertainment, Holmfirth Picturedrome is reported to be the North of England’s finest intimate music venue. Quite uniquely, Holmfirth is also home to its very own vineyard where you can take a tour or grab a bite to eat. Of course all of this is on the northern edge of the Peak District National Park meaning opportunities for walkers are endless.

Just a short walk from the centre of bustling Holmfirth, this spectacular property boasts stunning far reaching views over the valley which you can enjoy whilst soaking in the luxury of your very own hot tub. A spacious and detached cottage, set out over one level, it is surrounded by beautiful wild gardens which extend into woodland thereby offering privacy and seclusion. Set in the Holme Valley on the edge of the Peak District National Park the surrounding magnificent countryside is most familiar as the back drop to the great British sitcom ’Last of the Summer Wine’. It is perfect for walking and cycling, with keen cyclists able to recreate routes used in the Tour de Yorkshire. A 10-minute walk down hill will take you to vibrant Holmfirth, home to shops, bars, cafés and restaurants in abundance, however a word to the wise, the roads back including the driveway to the cottage are steep and not for the faint hearted. Digley Reservoir and Holmfirth Vineyard are both around a 10-minute drive from the property and further afield you’ll find attractions for all interests within easy reach. These include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth Gallery, Nostell Priory, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House, all within an hour’s drive, as are the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

Hodroyd Hall is a beautiful, grade II listed private country house in the picturesque hamlet of Felkirk, in West Yorkshire. The earliest reference to Hodroyd is in 1144 and the Hall is steeped in history from its days as a monastic building, to the country seat of the Monckton family, Today, it is once again a family home and offers a unique combination of country house tradition with the informality of family life. The impressive property boasts a fabulous hall with sweeping staircase, a library, lounge area, snug, formal dining area, an orangery large kitchen breakfast room plus many more rooms to explore. There are six beautiful bedrooms at Hodroyd Hall, all unique and with their own story. Guests will be able to stay in the Cromwell Room where Oliver Cromwell reputedly convalesced during the Civil War, or relax in The Queen’s Chamber, where legend has it that Mary Queen of Scots rested during her journey to Fotheringay Castle.
The Berrie Suite is named after the strawberries that were grown on site in the 1640’s - the earliest recorded cultivation in Yorkshire! The outside of the property offers guests a courtyard area to enjoy the Summer sun and a landscaped garden to relax in. You can’t fail to enjoy your stay at Hodroyd Hall, as everything is on your door step whether you want activities, entertainment, retail, countryside, or culture. For those wanting to blow the cobwebs away, Pugneys Water Park is 15 minutes away, where you can take sailing courses, hire boats or ride a miniature railway.
Carlton Marsh Nature Reserve is also just 5 minutes away and Fitzwilliam Country Park is 15 minutes away. Fitzwilliam train station has free car parking from where you can travel to Wakefield, Leeds or Sheffield in 30 minutes. If you want to go further afield, York, Skipton, and Scarborough are easily reachable. If going by car there are many local attractions, including the world-renowned Hepworth Gallery, Wentworth Castle, Pontefract Castle, Wakefield Castle, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and Cannon Hall; all can be reached in just 20 minutes, meaning you really are spoilt for choice. In nearby Wakefield, you can enjoy the emerging food and craft ale scene or visit for the rhubarb festival. Finally, slightly further afield a 30-minute drive will take you to the edge of the Peak District National Park and everything it has to offer. For more serious retail adventures the shopping centres of both Meadowhall and White Rose, Trinity Leeds are within easy reach. Newsagents 1½ miles, shops, supermarket 2½ miles, pub ¾ mile and restaurant 4 miles.

Located just off the centre of Penistone is Spring Cottage on The Green, where you are a short 8-minute walk from the town’s local amenities which include restaurants, pubs and shops.
After a fun packed day exploring, retreat home to Spring Cottage where there is an open-plan living room and kitchen on the ground floor. It has all the essentials required to cook up a delicious meal, then relax and unwind on the comfortable sofa with the electric wood burner creating a cosy atmosphere, with a projector to watch your favourite shows. Upstairs there are two bedrooms made up of a double and a twin, and a family bathroom. To the front of the house is a small garden area with a bistro set, perfect for al fresco dining, or enjoying a morning coffee. There is parking available in the driveway across from the property and ample roadside space also.
Penistone is surrounded by beautiful and historic countryside, there are both easy and challenging walks, or if you want to make a full day of it then walk the Cal-Der-Went, which links the River Derwent to the River Calder and crosses three counties.

Travelling further afield you will also find St. Ives Estate, Bingley, Altar Rock, Five Rise Locks, Cliffe Castle, Harlow Carr at Harrogate, East Riddlesden Hall, and on our very own doorstep The keighley & Worth Valley Railway, and the Bronte Parsonage Museum. Originally three cottages and now one luxury holiday home, Weavers Cottage is ideal for families and friends to enjoy relaxed gatherings or special celebrations. The spacious open plan kitchen/dining/bar area is the heart of the house and perfect for entertaining with the large oak dining table seating up to twelve.
On the first-floor guests will find a master bedroom with kingsize bed, en-suite bathroom with large freestanding bath and also a dressing room with an additional single bed. Along the corridor you will find two further bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The second floor has two bedrooms with vaulted ceilings, galleried chill-out areas with TV and games consoles. One of these bedrooms is made up with twin beds that can be zipped to make a kingsize on request, the other has twin singles. There is also a further bathroom with full bath and shower. The garden will be a firm favourite with guests, with space for children to play and adults to relax. It has its own private hot tub to soak in, timber framed outdoor cooking area with pizza oven and BBQ for al fresco dining. After a scenic walk, leave your boots in the handy boot room, with plenty of hooks for wet coats and towels for muddy paws.
Weavers Cottage is nestled between the idyllic villages of Slaithwaite and Marsden and set back from the picturesque Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Both villages can be easily reached on foot or bicycle along the canal directly from the property. With an easy 20 min walk you can enjoy the numerous café’s, bars and local shops, including some excellent artisan bakeries for that special breakfast treat. Just a short walk through adjacent fields will bring you to the Olive Branch Inn with its relaxed atmosphere, fine dining and outdoor seating to take in the beautiful views. The property is burrowed amidst the National Trust Marsden Moor Estate; guests will be spoilt for choice with more than 5000 acres to explore. Whether you prefer to explore the landscape on foot, by bike or through the lens of a camera there are plenty of things to see and do. The rugged landscape and steep climbs are the perfect challenge for keen mountain bikers, while others might prefer to wander alongside the water’s edge of the canal and retrace ancient packhorse trails to Standedge Tunnel with it’s fascinating Visitor Centre – where you can learn about the longest, highest and deepest canal tunnel in Britain. Marsden Train station can be reached on foot or just a few minutes drive away and offers easy access to Manchester (36mins) and Leeds (45mins) for that Big City vibe.

This beautiful, 18th-century, stone-built terraced cottage offers a comfortable stay within the charming little town of Baildon. Brook Cottage has plenty of character with exposed beams and reclaimed brickwork which offers both couples and families a perfect holiday retreat and is ideally located to explore all that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. The property is set over two levels; you enter the property into the well-presented, well-equipped kitchen which has plenty of room for food preparation. Through from the kitchen is a comfortable living room which has all the home comforts to give that lovely ‘home from home’ feel. Across from the living room is the lovely dining room, a great place to have a home cooked meal or play a board game with the family. To the rear of the property is the stunning garden, with a decked area and lawn for the kids to play on whilst the adults enjoy a well-deserved glass of fizz in the summer months.
With the property situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Brook Cottage is perfectly located for exploring the beautiful local countryside. There are many walks straight from your door and cycling is very popular in the area, why not try a section of the Tour de France route that runs through Keighley and Haworth? For a more relaxing way to explore the area, hop on the Worth Valley Steam Train from Keighley Station, which takes you on a 5-mile journey through the Haworth moors and on to Oxenhope, once home to the Bronte sisters. The village of Haworth, 8 miles, is well worth a visit with its pretty cobbled streets lined with bunting and old-fashioned windows giving you a glimpse of the wares within.
Ilkley is just a short drive from the property meaning you have access to its variety of independent shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs and Tea Rooms. Bolton Abbey is a great place for a family day out, offering plenty of walking within the magnificent 30,000-acre grounds and picture-perfect picnic spots beside the river. The charming market town of Skipton, also known as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’, is 15 minutes away which is home to an ancient castle, cobbled high street and colourful street market. There is also golf nearby and a train station.
