These two lovely, semi-detached cottages have been beautifully restored by the owners who have a long history with the properties. Olde Oak Cottage (ref UK12890) is situated on the old A303 route and used to be a tearoom so many people may remember stopping here for a cup of tea and slice of cake whilst on their travels. It is steeped in history and the owners aim to relive this through its tasteful decoration, including exposed brick walls and two beautiful open fireplaces, one of which houses a wood burner. Oak Cottage (ref UKC4635) is an 18th century cottage of natural stone and render elevations and has been restored during late 2020 and Spring 2021 and is within 100 yards of the village centre.
Zeals is in an ideal location, with the World Heritage site of Stonehenge being only 23 miles to the east. The Jurassic Coastline, including Weymouth, Bournemouth, is approximately 45 miles and Weston-super-Mare on the Bristol Channel also 45 miles away. Bath, another World Heritage is 25 miles to the north. Other local attractions include Haynes Motor Museum and The Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton both of which are only a 30-minute drive. Aerospace Bristol housing Concorde and the large shopping centres at Cabot Circus and Cribbs Causeway make for another good day. The cathedral city of Salisbury, 23 miles to the east and The New Forest make for a pleasant day out. The National Trust’s Stourhead House and Gardens is only one mile away. The recently renovated (2023) Mill Lodge has been lovingly furnished and equipped to a high standard throughout and includes fantastic indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing and enjoying the wonderful surroundings. On the ground floor, you will also find a bedroom with a kingsize bed and en-suite shower room, whilst upstairs are two lovely bedrooms, with the first having 2x extra-long single beds, alongside a kingsize bedroom and a family bathroom.
The property has both front and back gardens with the front mostly laid to lawn. The back garden enjoys a south-facing patio and lawned area overlooking willow trees, parkland and the former Mill, which is ideal for outdoor dining or barbecuing. The detached conservatory offers a further seating/eating space. There is a private tennis court open all year round and bookable for a three-hour slot each day. There is a heated, outdoor swimming pool (open between the beginning of May until mid-October) which is also available for guests’ exclusive use for a bookable two hour slot each day. Here you will find a plethora of independent gift shops, restaurants and a stunning 12th-century abbey, as well as supermarkets and a town hall that shows recent cinema releases. Nearby, there are quintessentially English villages and lively market towns with breath-taking landscapes and scenic trails, gardens and bridleways waiting to be explored. Outside to the front of the property is a small garden with a seating area and barbecue, perfect for enjoying the evening sunshine. Dogs are welcome and are to be kept on a lead outdoors. The garden is not enclosed, however there is a large green to the front of drive and peaceful walks on the doorstep.

The centre of the historic market town of Devizes is just 3 miles away with its array of shops, eateries, amenities and the famous flight of 29 canal locks. Bath, with its world-famous Roman baths and relaxing spa (19 miles), Salisbury (25 miles), Stonehenge, with its visitors’ centre (16 miles), Marlborough (17 miles), and Silbury Hill and Avebury (both 12 miles), are all within easy reach. The picturesque villages of Castle Combe and Lacock, both frequently used as film and TV locations including Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, are within 20 miles. Located in the pretty hamlet of Haxton, lying on the edge of the Salisbury Plain, Trapps Cottage is a charming, Grade II listed cottage full of character with oak beamed ceilings and cob walls. You will enter the property into the lovely living/dining room, there is an impressive inglenook fireplace with a feature wood burner, not to be used, a Smart TV and the dining area has French doors that lead into the south facing garden. The kitchen is fully equipped with a Rayburn Aga for cooking, and there is a good range of appliances, perfect for cooking up a home cooked meal after a busy day exploring. As the property was originally two cottages there are two staircases, the stairs are steep and there are low ceilings. The staircase from the living/dining room leads to the spacious landing with master bedroom and family bathroom, whilst the second staircase leads to a single bedroom and another large room with kingsize bed, and a small opening passage to the master bedroom.
