Chittlehampton is a traditional north Devon village (between Barnstaple and South Molton) and the first village where the Saxons settled during their 8th century invasion of Devon. Lovely St. Hieritha’s Church was completely rebuilt between 1470 and 1520 on the site of the earlier cruciform structure and dominates the local skyline.
