Over the two upper floors you will find a further living room with views over the harbour and three comfortable bedrooms, two of which are en-suite, and one with access to its own bathroom. Located right in the heart of Ilfracombe, Blue Beach House is very conveniently located with all the local shops, restaurants and other local amenities within easy walking distance of the house. Seek out Damian Hirst’s ’Verity’ sculpture - a great topic of conversation. The Victorian Tunnels Beaches are worth a visit and are also a sought after wedding venue. A walk up to St Nicholas Chapel will give you a great view over the harbour and town. Enjoy a spot of crabbing from the pier and there a numerous sightseeing and fishing trips leaving from the harbour.
During your stay, there is plenty to see and do in the local area and slightly further afield. Good days out include Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Watermouth Castle and the Lynton to Lynmouth cliff railway. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor is a short distance away and on a clear day the views can be spectacular. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Great Torrington. There are a number of National Trust properties in the area, most notably Castle Drogo and Arlington Court. Also within easy reach (20 miles) is Powderham Castle. This remarkable 14th century castle, set in a beautiful deer park on the banks of the River Exe, has been home to the same family since 1391. Visitors are encouraged to explore the picturesque gardens, discover the interior beauty of the castle and to take part in some of the events which are held throughout the year. The wonderful RHS gardens at Rosemoor and the Dartington Crystal Factory are worth a visit and both these attractions are based at Great Torrington. There is golf, fishing and horse riding available in the local area and cycle hire can be arranged on the Tarka Trail at various locations. Shop 3 miles, pub 1¼ miles and restaurant 5 miles.

Durcombe Water Annexe is a quality studio-style annexe located adjacent to the owners’ home and in a beautiful part of North Devon within Exmoor National Park.
The annexe has a high degree of privacy and benefits from a lovely small lawn and decked garden where you can enjoy an al fresco meal or a drink in peace and tranquillity while making the most of the valley views. Accessed via 13 wide steps from the drive where there is parking for one car, the accommodation comprises into one room with a kingsize bed, Smart TV and a kitchen area with a breakfast bar, electric oven & hob, a microwave, and a fridge. The bathroom has a large shower cubicle and there is also a handy entrance area with a washing machine. The annexe is located just 4 miles from the beautiful coastal village of Lynmouth and its beach which is on the northern edge of Exmoor National Park.
Rivers wind through deeply wooded valleys on their way to the sea, occasionally interrupted by tumbling waterfalls. Exmoor itself has abundant wildlife, including ponies, sheep and red deer that graze the open moorland; overhead you might see falcons, buzzards and even the rare merlin. The surrounding coastline and countryside boast some of the most spectacular and awe-inspiring sea and hillside views you can find. There are some amazing walks that can be taken and local restaurants, pubs, cafés, tea rooms, various craft, boutique, novelty, and antique shops are all within easy reach. There are two pubs within 3 miles. Lynton boasts one of the most characterful town hall buildings you’ll find anywhere showing the best of the Tudor Revival style and then there’s the local cinema in a former Grade II Listed chapel where you can relax and take in a movie.
Lynmouth with its riverside walks, harbourside pubs, restaurants and large manor green overlooking the sea is linked by road, footpath and by the famous Victorian funicular cliff railway which opened in 1890 and is the highest and steepest totally water powered railway in the world! The location offers an ideal base to relax, enjoy invigorating outdoor pursuits or visit many famous beauty spots in this area of outstanding natural beauty and not to forget the magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’. Royal Oak Farm is a detached, thatched holiday cottage full of character, situated in the heart of Winsford, one of Exmoor’s prettiest villages. Some of the original parts of the cottage date back to the 14th century. There is generous living space and a large enclosed garden to enjoy. Winsford is located in the heart of Exmoor National Park. There is an inviting pub next to the cottage and a local shop within walking distance. The cottage is surrounded by the majesty of Exmoor and there is easy access to some spectacular country walks on the moorland with an extensive network of well marked footpaths. Dulverton is located 6 miles away and has a wider range of shops, restaurants and tea rooms. A visit to Tarr Steps and Dunkery Beacon, highest point on Exmoor, are some of the highlights. Wimball Lake is a short drive away where you can enjoy the wildlife that surrounds the lake, or enjoy sailing, canoeing or angling on the lake. Other local attractions that may be of interest are the village and castle at Dunster, the West Somerset Railway at Minehead and the villages of Porlock Weir, Lynton and Lynmouth. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor. Shop 100 yards and pub 20 yards.

Exmoor View lies in the small hamlet of Cheriton. Nestled on the edge of Exmoor, this cottage is perfect for a family or small group of friends. Located next door to the owner’s home, Exmoor View has a really great layout. there is a large living area with patio doors opening up to great views of Exmoor. Upstairs, there are 3 en-suite bedrooms, perfect for friends sharing or those with older children. There is a southerly facing patio area, ideal for sitting out on a sunny day. Even at night, with Exmoor’s ’Dark Sky’ status, the star gazing is some of the best on offer. From the cottage, you can walk up on to Exmoor.
Exmoor View is located a short distance form the popular coastal town of Lynton and Lynmouth, where there are a great range of shops, restaurants and of course the famous Victorian Cliff Railway. The ’Valley of the Rocks’ is worth walking and exploring as well as the walk down to Countisbury Light House. The National Trust property of Watersmeet is also nearby and and has a popular tea-room. There are numerous attractions within easy reach including Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, the Two Moors Way and Watermouth Castle. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor has lots to offer including Tarr Steps, the village of Withypool and a walk up Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor.
A day out into west Somerset is recommended with places such as Porlock Weir, the pretty harbour village of Watchet, medieval Dunster village and the National Trust’s Dunster Castle and Gardens. The seaside town of Minehead nearby is home to the West Somerset Steam Railway. There are plenty of National Trust properties locally, including Arlington Court, Knightshayes and Combe Park. The world famous RHS gardens at Rosemoor can be found in Great Torrington along with the Dartington Crystal factory. Woody Bay narrow gauge railway is about 2½ miles away and the South West Coastal Path provides some challenging but highly rewarding walks and is easily accessible. Beach 2½ miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
