Set in its own courtyard and having a fabulous hot tub and firepit to enjoy with beautiful countryside views as well as views of the owner’s sheep and horses, surrounding you, you’ll spend hours chilling out here! Stepping inside through the triple bi-fold doors, the open plan studio layout works perfectly for your romantic retreat, with the extremely comfortable, raised kingsize bed enjoying the highest quality sheets for the ultimate night’s sleep. The kitchen area is well equipped and has granite worktops, an electric hob and full-sized oven, fridge with freezer compartment and a microwave, allowing you to cook a meal at any time of day and then relax on the sofa with a glass of wine or a cuppa! The shower room has been finished to the same high standard, with a large electric shower and heated towel rail for your comfort. Underfloor heating features throughout making the pod the ideal choice for a holiday at any time of year!
There is a working equestrian facility to the rear and if you can bear to tear yourself away, then you are within driving distance of many superb attractions in south Somerset. Nearby are the great attractions of the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, the Haynes Classical Car Collection, the enchanting Glastonbury Tor and Clarks Factory Village. There are numerous historic houses, the cathedral city of Wells and onto the delightful Cheddar Gorge and caves, while further afield is the historic spa city of Bath. There is a wealth of attractions and sights to enjoy and on your return perhaps stroll down to the local award-winning village pub, 1 mile away, to wine and dine.

This delightful cottage can be found on the edge of the Peak District in the picturesque village of Cutthorpe, down a private country lane on the owner’s non-working farm of 2 acres. Green Farm is surrounded by fields, woodland, footpaths and bridleways with direct access to the Linacre Reservoirs and Holmebrook Country Park. Tawny Owl Barn is a beautifully converted stone barn, situated over two floors, retaining many original features. The ground floor lays claim to a cosy living room complete with a warming wood burner, leather sofas, exposed stone walls and wooden beams. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen/dining room, a great social space with a large dining table so you can have a home cooked meal with all the family, as well as a single bedroom with an oak sliding barn door. Head upstairs where you will find two en-suite bedrooms with varnished, natural wooden floors, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. Double glazed and centrally heated throughout, this barn is perfect for families and groups all year round.
Outside, there is a fully enclosed private garden with a patio table and chairs, a barbeque and views over open countryside. There is a gate giving access to the fully enclosed hot tub (which is available all year for an additional charge, payable locally). This also includes the supply of additional towels and dressing gowns. We have a one acre paddock to exercise your dog in. Up to two well behaved dogs.
Cutthorpe has two pubs within walking distance that are dog friendly and serve food. It has a pretty village green and benefits from panoramic views over Chesterfield with its famous crooked spire. The village is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, yet is only 3 miles from The popular market town of Chesterfield. Its perfect location allows you to explore historic houses, walking, cycling and visiting the tourist towns of Bakewell, Matlock, Castleton, Buxton, Eyam and Hathersage. If its stately homes, castles and gardens you would like to visit, the magnificent Chatsworth House is only 10 minutes drive away; the grounds and house will provide a full day out. Within 30 minutes you can also visit Packwood house, Bolsover castle, Renishaw hall, Haddon hall and Hardwick hall.

For those that are more active, there are numerous options varying from local walks from your door, to more adventurous walks in the Peak District. Cyclists are also well catered for with a variety of road and off road tracks and trails. Additionally there is shooting, canoeing, horse riding, go ape, abseiling, climbing, fishing and golf all available nearby. Alternatively you can just relax and enjoy the tranquillity that Green Farm offers. The nearest shop is 2 miles, café 1½ miles, post office, doctors are all available locally.

Near the Royal Forest of Dean and just a few minutes’ drive from Tintern Abbey, this beautifully appointed and warm lodge with its own hot tub commands wonderful views over the sylvan Wye Valley above Brockweir. Easily accessed year round, this border territory is marked by stunning scenery and brooding castles. There are delightful market towns to explore and the walking is excellent, whether on Offa’s Dyke, in the forest or along the river bank. Chepstow’s castle, racecourse and golf courses about 5 miles. Bruno’s Bothy is detached and set in a peaceful location on a working farm in the heart of beautiful Cumbria. Renovated to an exacting standard and beautifully decorated with beamed high ceilings, wood burner, a delightful sun room overlooking the garden, not to mention the hot tub - you just might not want to venture further afield. If you can tear yourself away, Cumbria and the Lake District National Park is one of the most beautiful regions in the UK. The area has something to offer all visitors, from those seeking adventure, to those seeking peace and quiet. Not only is the Lake District National Park a short drive away, but from here it’s also easy to explore the great border city of Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and Scotland. Set in the heart of River Cottage land, just outside the town of Axminster, these two properties have amazing views and are surrounded by rolling hills, and are just 10 minutes’ from the beach. Shepherds Knapp Lodge (ref UK13284) is a beautiful, detached, two bedroom lodge with a large well laid out living/kitchen/dining area, with a large comfy corner sofa. The pine dining table is perfect for mealtimes as well as socialising in the evening playing games or enjoying a glass of wine after a long day exploring. The two bedrooms are warm and comfortable with a double and a twin and the good sized shower room has a corner shower cubicle.
Shepherds Knapp (ref UK13285) is a stunning semi-detached, two bedroom cottage, the beautiful and well-equipped kitchen/dining room has granite worktops, marble dining table and range cooker. The large living room has gorgeous leather sofas, a Smart TV and an PlayStation 3, perfect for rainy days. The large French doors lead onto the balcony with picture perfect views over the hills beyond. Upstairs are two sumptuous bedrooms with the main bedroom having a kingsize French bed. There is a twin bedroom and a beautiful shower room with Italian tiles and walk-in shower. Outside there are two seating areas, to the rear an enclosed private courtyard and to the front a private balcony with countryside views.
The properties are perfect for attending courses at River Cottage or if you just want to head to the River Cottage Kitchen in Axminster to sample some of their tasty delights. Just 10 minutes drive away is the gorgeous seaside town of Lyme Regis with its sandy beach and seaside stores, the harbour town of West Bay (made famous by the TV series Broadchurch) is reachable within 20 minutes. Heading slightly further afield you will find the city of Exeter with its shops, restaurants and entertainment. You can also catch the train from nearby Axminster. Beach 4¾ miles. Matlock Bath is a well known resort on the River Derwent. Visit the popular Heights of Abraham cable cars, enjoy fish and chips, and numerous entertainments throughout the year. A little further afield, Chatsworth House and Bakewell provide a wonderful day out, exploring the local businesses that line the streets. Something for all the family awaits you here at St Leonards. Choose one of the four lovely barn conversions for your family holiday and learn something new during your stay here. The barns are located on a horse riding school, where all the family are encouraged to give horse riding a try. Once in the saddle you will want to take it up when you get back home. The lovely heated outdoor swimming pool is a great hit with families with children, and the Jacuzzi and sauna are favourites with adults. St Leonards certainly is a holiday base with a difference, situated in a wooded valley, it provides a comfortable and relaxing holiday for people of all ages though out the entire year. All the cottages are set on the edge of a courtyard over looking the stables and surrounded by 23 acres of private grounds which is also home to a ½-acre coarse fishing lake, or for something more energetic why not take part in a game of paintball available on site. There is plenty of birdlife here including kingfishers, so you often awaken to the sound of the dawn chorus!

It is an ideal location for touring the both north and south Cornish coasts and close to the Devon/Cornwall border so you can explore both counties from one base. Whether you wish to take it easy in our pool and bbq area, have a swim, ride a horse, try paintball or even go fishing on the River Kensey close by, there is plenty to keep you entertained and make you want to get out and about and feel invigorated by the fresh Cornish air. Perfect for summer, spring, autumn or even winter holidays, all the cottages have been very comfortably furnished and equipped, featuring pine furniture, comfortable beds and woodburners, making them a cosy and welcome home to come back to.

Out and about in the region you can head west by car to the Widemouth Heritage Coast and visit mystical Tintagel and Port Isaac Bay, or head east towards Dartmoor’s wilderness; whichever direction you travel in there is sure to be something new to see. Launceston, 2 miles, once the ancient capital of Cornwall, has shops, a steam railway, castle, golf and an indoor leisure centre. A variety of golf courses locally.
