Between March and October you can enjoy the Bardsey Island boat trip, the 12 seater leaves from Porth Meudwy, a short drive from Aberdaron. The headland at the tip on the Llyn Peninsula, Uwch Mynydd is not to be missed, enjoy coastal walking at its very best, superb views of Bardsey Island to the west and mountains of Snowdonia to the east. 10 miles from Abersoch and 12 miles from Morfa Nefyn, day trips are easy if you fancy a change of scene. A local minibus runs in the summer months, ferrying people from one coastal village to another for a minimal fee, a great way to enjoy the landscape without having to watch the road, it also affords you the option of having a pub lunch and drink at one of the top ten beach bars in the world.

Stroll down to the village, 5 minutes away, where there is a lovely sandy beach with stunning views of the two small islands known as the ’Isle of Gulls’. A perfect spot to relax and for children to build sandcastles and potter about. Culinary delights await at the various restaurants and fish and chip shops. Buy locally at the small supermarket a few minutes walk away, lovely supplies of local meat and fresh fruit and vegetables. Go to local thatched roofed bakery for bread, cakes and great cooked breakfasts. Visit the National Trust visitors centre next to the beach and learn the history of this unique area. Whistling Sands(National Trust) only a couple of miles up the coast a delightful bay where children will delight in the fact that the sands really do whistle! Find your perfect cove when walking the Coastal Path, Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn beaches are an easy drive. Visit Abersoch with wide sandy beaches excellent shops and lively restaurants and ever popular Llanbedrog Beach with candy coloured beach huts.

The ancient church of St Hywyn’s in Aberdaron was the last stopping off point for pilgrims to Bardsey Island. There is so much to see and do within 200 yards of Bodarfor! Uwchmynydd is a heath covered headland above the village and is and home to a variety of rare plants and birds - an ideal spot from where to catch sight of elusive Bardsey Island which is invisible from the village or the Peninsula.
