This comfortable, detached cottage is set in a secluded location on the smallholding of Erw Goed, which sits peacefully within the Snowdonia National Park. Situated between the beautiful Mawddach Estuary and the foothills of Cadair Idris, just 3 miles from lovely sandy beaches at Fairbourne and Barmouth. The property is accessed by crossing some uneven ground and via a small footbridge over a stream. Guests have sole use of the ½-acre fenced garden with stream running through, there is a camp fire site available for outdoor cooking or camp fires, and guests are also welcome to explore Erw Goed’s 30 acres of gardens and unspoilt woodland and hill with spectacular views over the estuary. You can also meet the livestock including ducks, chickens, bees and sometimes pigs. The Mawddach Trail is easily accessible and the market town of Dolgellau is 6 miles away. Walking, pony trekking, fishing and golf are available locally. Coed-y-Brenin, 10 miles, is a renowned mountain biking centre. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Ty Hir is located close to the beautiful Mawddach Estuary with its coastal trail and cycle path. There is direct access from the farm leading down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach, great for families with small children or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth. If you wish you can just relax, enjoy a spot of fishing nearby, or for the more energetic you can enjoy family walks in the idyllic scenery, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Snowdonia National Park. The family-run pony trekking and equestrian centre on-site is just on the north side of the farm, away from our holiday cottages with menage Hire (arena), riders or complete beginners are catered for. Holiday stabling is available by arrangement should you wish to bring your own horse. Shop, Golf course, pub and restaurant ¾ mile . Cycle trails and Zip World, Bounce Below approx 45 min drive. As you step out of your front door, you are greeted by the splendour of the Hafod Ruffydd waterfall with spectacular views of the nearby mountains. Miles of forest walks through stunning scenery await you. Picturesque Beddgelert village is nearby and the challenging routes up Snowdon a walk away. The Welsh Highland Railway meanders through the forest and the occasional whistles of the stream trains are always a joy to hear.
After a day exploring the local countryside and attractions, what better than to come back to the comfort in your own forest haven. On clear nights the stars seem to shine even brighter in the ink black sky and you will fall asleep to the gentle sound of the river passing by or the hoot of the owls in the forest. Guests can bring their own horses, and charges can be arranged directly with the owner. Nearby are fishing, horse riding along the beach, golf or explore the hidden coves. Gloriously situated at the end of Bala Lake, this delightful holiday property, next door to the owners’ seasonal coffee shop, has a lovely decked area from which to admire the stunning views across Wales’ largest natural lake. Fishing is available on Bala Lake (or Llyn Tegid to give it its Welsh name) and a licence may be purchased locally. Stroll to the end of the lake and catch a narrow gauge steam train on the Bala Lake Railway, along the lake shore to the pretty village of Llanuwchllyn. The market town of Bala is close by and offers several pubs, restaurants and cafes within walking distance, as well as a nearby leisure centre and shopping facilities. Located in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, you can take the mountain road over to Lake Vyrnwy, an experience in itself, or the easy route to the beach at Barmouth, just over 25 miles away.
