Bring your bucket and spade as the glorious sandy beach at Morfa Dyffryn is just a mile down the road and offers superb views over to the Rhinog Mountains. For the more adventurous, Zip World and Bounce Below at Blaenau Ffestiniog are a thrill seekers delight, whilst the famous Ffestiniog Railway and mighty Harlech Castle are also well worth a visit. From Barmouth, why not hire a bike and cycle across Barmouth Bridge and along the Mawddach Trail to Penmaenpool and Dolgellau? Beach 1 mile. Shops 300 yards, pubs and restaurants ½ mile.

There are lakes, coastal paths, fishing, bike trails, Snowdonia National Park and popular tourist towns all within easy reach, not to mention the beach a few minutes walk away.

There are many beaches to explore in the area, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Just down the road you’ll find the blue flag Dinas Dinlle Beach, with wonderful views across the bay to Anglesey. Porthdinllaen is also nearby and is home to the famous Ty Coch Inn, once voted in the top ten best beach bars in the world!

Caernarfon Castle, an imposing UNESCO World Heritage site is only a short drive away. You’re within easy reach of, Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog, home to the Welsh Highland Railway. There’s also Glasfryn park with many activities to be found here, from go-karting, archery, crazy golf, and many water sports to name a few. A North Wales holiday cottage almost straight from a children’s story book and set in a magical location surrounded by woodland. Bird boxes and feeders around the cottage ensure birdsong throughout the year; nuthatches, nesting blue tits and even woodpeckers can be seen feeding. Fairbourne and Barmouth are a pleasant drive away, with miles of golden sands at Barmouth and a smaller sandy beach at Fairbourne. Drive down to the lovely seaside resort of Aberdovey with candy-coloured houses, a long uncrowded beach and seaside atmosphere.

In the heart of Criccieth this 17th-century wing of a Grade II listed manor house has been fully and beautifully restored and is now a stylish and comfortable holiday cottage. Set in a wooded enclave the cottage is brimming with character - thick stone walls shuttered windows, two inglenook fireplaces and a stone, steep, spiral staircase.
Criccieth’s surrounding protected woodlands have undulating lawns and an orchard shared with Bwthyn Stabal (Ref QC1199) to enjoy meals in dappled sunlight under the trees listening to birdsong - what could be more enchanting! The property is protected with CCTV in the grounds, focused on the oil tank whilst guests are in residence and on the front door in low season.
This bustling market town, constantly occupied since Roman times, is dominated by Edward I’s magnificent 13th century castle which houses the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers - Wales’ oldest regiment.
