Completely renovated in 2021, this beautiful detached, single-storey holiday cottage enjoys an idyllic location, with Loch Etive to the front and the River Awe directly behind. The lovely little town of Taynuilt has a friendly community and offers a village grocery store, a post office, butchers, tea room, hairdressers, doctor’s surgery and a restaurant serving good food. There is also a train station, the line through Taynuilt runs from Glasgow to Oban so you can have a day in the city or head to the islands. Taynuilt’s golf course is just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage and offers 9 holes.
The bustling Victorian town of Oban known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’ is just 20 minutes away by carand offers shops, bars, seafood restaurants, a cinema and leisure centre. Whisky lovers can visit the Oban Distillery to learn how it’s all made. Regular boat trips leave the busy harbour bound for the Inner Hebridean Islands, including Mull, Iona and the Treshnish Isles with their comical puffins.
Enjoy leisurely forest walks, horseriding, fishing, sailing, diving and golf, or for the more adventurous, Glen Nevis, one of the Highland’s most famous glens and the location of scenes from Harry Potter and Braveheart, is only a short drive and offers stunning scenery and bracing walks. Set on the idyllic Trewince Manor Estate and located close to the harbour village of Portscatho. This beautiful estate has a creek on one side and the stunning Roseland coastline within an easy walk of the other. Trewince has a range of facilities including wonderful, expansive grounds. Portscatho and its neighbouring village of Gerrans are located on the eastern coast of the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, overlooking the dramatic Gerrans Bay. Porthmadog is a busy harbour town, home to the Welsh Highland Steam Railway. Within easy reach is Black Rock Sands where you’ll find miles of sweeping sands and dunes, and Portmeirion, an enchanting Italian-style village. A short drive is Harlech with its imposing Castle and extensive beach. Nearby Blaenau Ffestiniog, an adrenaline junkie’s delight with Zip World, the largest zip wire zone in the world, Bounce Below, where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern, and the Stiniog mountain bike trails. This holiday cottage is in a magnificent location for a combined seaside and country holiday. Secluded and tranquil, guests are free to explore the woodland walk and the area is home to a variety of wildlife - including wild deer, owls and hares just to name a few. The property is set on a small traditional organic farm which grows vegetables and organic soft fruit. Guests are welcome to purchase the organic products grown here directly from the friendly owners. The property is environmentally friendly, heated by a unique wood-burning/solar heating system, and many of the practices throughout the farm and property use natural resources for their day-to-day running. The beautiful North York Moors are a delight to explore either on foot or by car, or alternatively, the steam railway runs along stunning scenery through many unspoilt villages including Goathland (Aidensfield in the television series ’Heartbeat’). The coast is easily accessible, 45 minutes away, and the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough and Whitby are delights not to be missed. The quaint cobbled streets of Robin Hood’s Bay, once a favourite haunt with smugglers, will keep children and adults entertained for hours with its shoreline full of strange and colourful pebbles. Castle Howard is within easy driving distance, and Flamingo Land (a popular theme park and zoo) is well worth the visit. The market town of Helmsley is just 6 miles away and has shops and inns as well as pretty walled gardens.

Many National Trust and English Heritage properties can be found within a 15-mile radius, including Nunnington Hall, Byland Abbey and Duncomb Park, to name but a few. The ancient city of York is but a 45-minute drive. Excellent walking can be found from the doorstep. The cottage combine country living, yet is close enough to the coast to keep any visitor happy, whatever type of holiday they may be looking for. You catch glimpses of the sea as you wander through beautifully maintained landscapes of Bridlington Links Holiday Park. The lodge takes its name from the owner’s Labradoodle and your four-legged friends are sure to be delighted on a stay here. The lodge is situated in a sunny hollow surrounded by woods, and deer are regular visitors here and there are with lots of walks nearby to discover.

Stepping inside you have a lovingly furnished open plan living area, complete with lots of thoughtful extras, with glass double doors opening onto the decking. There is a twin bedroom as well as the master double bedroom, both beautifully presented. This is a welcoming base to return to after a day of exploring. From Sewerby you can walk along the cliff tops down to Bridlington, or in the summer months a land train is available. The holiday lodge park backs onto Sewerby Hall, a Georgian mansion open to the public. The gardens are spectacular and the house is host to many events throughout the year. Yorkshire is renowned for its stately homes so as well as Sewerby Hall you also have Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall just a short drive away.

The seaside town of Bridlington can easily be reached on foot or just a short drive. Possibly the best attraction of Bridlington is its large sandy beach that is sure to provide a great day out of sandcastle building and paddling!
