The owner has purposely built the accommodation for holiday letting after experiences of their own, they wanted to create something others could enjoy. Accommodating up to four guests, plus travel cot if required, with open plan living, kitchen, and dining areas, creating a spacious and inviting atmosphere with patio doors that lead out onto the terrace and with stunning views of the rural countryside, it’s the perfect countryside stay. Enjoy the serenity of the large outdoor field, on your doorstep, perfect for a leisurely stroll with your four-legged friend. Or after a day out exploring, unwind in the relaxing hot tub, perfect for star gazing and located right on the terrace of the lodge so not far to go at all! The owner lives next door and is more than happy to share her love of the area and local knowledge, helping you make the most of your Bromyard adventure.
Bromyard is a hidden gem. Well known for its local farm shops, cider, and artisan food producers. With independent shops to visit and lively town crier events throughout the year, this town offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere to all visitors. The river Frome is nearby for those who like to enjoy canoeing and similar activities. Brockhampton Estate, Shortwood Farm, the Black and White Trail, Ledbury town with its timber framed buildings and historic 17th century market hall, and the city of Hereford with its cathedral and Mappa Mundi, are all a short drive away and wonderful places to visit.

Quabbs Head Cottage, before it was renovated, extended and restored, was an isolated ‘two up, two down’ country cottage. It is unknown when exactly it was built, but it is shown on the 1840 Herefordshire Tithe Map, and it seems to have been built originally in the 14th or 15th century. It is located approximately half a mile from the nearest property, with views to open country, and beneath ancient deciduous woodland, in the heart of what is now the Netherley Hall Estate. It is shown on the 1840 Tithe Map as ‘Quabhead Cottage’. Quabb’s Head means literally the ‘the head of the bog’. The original gable wall has been lovingly restored, and the extensions have been built, with oak from ancient estate woodland. On the ground floor, you’ll find two beautifully appointed bedrooms, each designed to offer a restful night’s sleep. These bedrooms are perfect for grandparents or older family members who may prefer to have their accommodations on the ground level, providing convenience and easy access to the main living areas. The deluxe bathroom on the ground floor includes a walk-in shower. There are some lovely walks from the door, particularly to Garway Hill, said to be the most beautiful place in Herefordshire, offering stunning views over 5 surrounding counties. The cottage is also ideally placed for you to experience canoeing along the Wye River, swimming in the River Monnow, or hiking on Offa’s Dyke or The Three Castles Way. Horse-riding, rock climbing, canoeing, fishing and caving are all within easy reach in the Wye Valley, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. The cottage is also close to the Forest of Dean with its cycling paths, picnic sites, Sculpture Trail and family attractions such as Go Ape. A 20-minute drive away is the cathedral city of Hereford, and the market towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, which host a variety of quality restaurants and independent shops. The open-plan dining room is the perfect space for enjoying meals with family and friends around the large farmhouse-style table. There are two steps up into the living room with its large, comfy sofas, the wood burner and a smart TV. If you want to get away from the television there is another living space in the glorious sunroom, which has folding glass doors leading out onto the south-facing front patio. There is a ground-floor toilet and a separate utility room with a tumble dryer. On the first floor you will find three bedrooms, one with a super kingsize bed, and two with twin beds. The bathroom has the best views from the cottage and has a stand-alone roll-top bath, shower cubicle, handbasin and toilet. Off-road parking for up to three cars is available in the gravel yard opposite the cottage, just across the road, where there are also some fruit trees.

Pear tree cottage is conveniently located with the historic town of Ludlow only 6 miles away, with its many award-winning restaurants and pubs and various food festivals. Alternatively, you can take a stroll to the village pub, which is less than half a mile away and can be reached along a public footpath. Enjoy a day out at Croft Castle or Berrington Hall, both are National Trust properties set in spectacular grounds. Less than half an hour drive is the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, enjoy the beauty of rolling hills, river valleys and woodlands with its rich variety of bird and wildlife.

Whitewells Farm were the first holiday cottages in Herefordshire to have been converted from existing farm buildings into individual self-catering holiday homes in 1978. They all feature original beams throughout, half-cruck trusses and some have vaulted ceilings and beamed room divisions. Situated in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, Whitewells Farm has a collection of individually styled barn conversions for you to stay in. Saddlestones was converted from the old milking parlour and stable, and has an upside down layout. The entrance hall leads to two beamed bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and vanity unit, and the other, a very spacious room with two single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a bath and overhead shower. The staircase leads up to the kitchen/dining area and a large, heavily exposed beamed living room. spot on the River Wye just 2 miles from The Old Bakehouse. Start at the top of the rock for panoramic views and breath-taking scenery.
