This two bedroom beach front lodge is located in Seasalter, Whitstable with stunning sea views from the back of the house. The wild, coastal garden (with secure gate and Hazel fencing for your dogs) leads on to the beach garden, with fire pit and Adirondack chairs, perfectly angled for star gazing.
Seasalter is a popular holiday destination due to the long stretches of beach and lovely walks and cycle routes along the coast.
Thyme and Tide, renovated in 2022 to a very good standard, is the ideal property for family holidays or just chilling out with the dogs. With great original artwork, many pieces sourced locally, comfortable slouchy couches and a large dining area for entertaining. The lodge is a home from home.
The village of Seasalter can be found on the north coast of Kent, facing the Isle of Sheppey across the mouth of the River Swale. It is located five miles north of historic Canterbury, between Whitstable and Faversham.
Seasalter, as it name implies, was an important centre for the production of salt as far back as the Iron Age and it was raided by Vikings due to its prosperity. By 1086 it was recorded in the Domesday Book as belonging to the "kitchen of the Archbishop" of Canterbury. At the western end of the village on the Faversham Road the local pub is like a welcoming lighthouse as visitors approach across the flat marshes. There has been an inn there since 1642. The property is designed with modern living in mind, yet with the cosy comforts you would hope for of a countryside retreat. The beautifully cladded larch exterior opens up to an impressive open plan space, with an interior combining polished concrete and plywood, textured fabrics and pops of muted colour, mixed with a warming wood burner and sumptuous sofa to curl up on after a day of exploring the picturesque North Downs.
Come sundown, retreat to the comfort of the master bedroom, with a kingsize bed, and mezzanine children’s twin tucked away on the first floor, with white cotton bed linen to wrap yourself up in and sink into a deep slumber. Then wake up to a breakfast of fresh eggs from your welcome pack laid by the resident hens.
Beautifully landscaped, shared gardens wait to be explored or simply gazed over whilst having a meal alfresco on your private dining terrace. Tucked away out of sight, the private hot tub awaits, immerse yourself in the bubbles and unwind. Open from May-September (from August during 2022) the beautifully dubbed ’secret garden’ awaits, take a dip in the large shared swimming pool with solar heated cover, fully relax on one of the loungers or on the outdoor sofas with a bar area for keeping your drinks cool, and pool table for a competitive game or two.
A true haven for those who wish to explore on foot, with miles of beautiful countryside surrounding you, the North Downs Way can be reached via footpaths from the door and a choice of locally renowned gastro pubs 2 miles away. Nestled between the historic city of Canterbury, and the coastal towns of Hythe and Folkestone, the coast, countryside and city can easily be explored.

Starlings is a Victorian terrace property offering open plan living space and a secluded south facing garden. Situated in the heart of Whitstable and within easy walking distance, 5 minutes from the seafront and harbour, there is no need to go far to find an abundance of restaurants, cafes and bars plus the pretty Harbour Street and its variety of artisan and independent shopping.

Originally a fisherman’s house, Starlings is deceptive and has been renovated to create spacious living space, offering flexibility for both family and friends to enjoy. With choices of cosy lounging, Smart TV and good Wi-Fi in front of the log burner during winter or, if eating in takes preference, enjoy the benefits of the beautifully well-equipped kitchen with the latest Neff appliances and dining area. Double garden doors open out onto the mature courtyard garden filled with herbs, roses and shrubs and perfect for al fresco dining, barbecue or sun lounging.

First floor accommodation has a superking double bedroom with walk in cupboard while across the landing the cabin bunk bedroom offers a top bunk suitable for child only, and a low level small double bed, plus space for a travel cot. The family bathroom has a large walk-in Aqualisa digital dual choice shower and a bath for a relaxing soak. On the top floor is a twin room with deep cushioned chairs to sit back and relax in for extra peace and quiet. The ownerprovides complimentary toiletries on arrival.

Enjoy exploring Whitstable and the surroundings with free on street parking or pay in the car park close by. The bus stop for Canterbury is within 3 minutes of the house while the train station with links direct into London is less than an 8-minute walk.

Evenings can be spent in front of the warming wood burner, whilst the chef of the group cooks a tasty meal in the stunning kitchen, a real heart of the home designed with socialising in mind.
Set in amongst the Kent countryside, The Barnyard is tucked down a country lane in the village of Sutton Valence. For those who wish to explore on foot, the location could not be better, with miles of picturesque countryside waiting to be explored, with not one but two renowned pubs within a 15-minute walk - one being just a 2-minute walk away, ideal for hassle free evening meals out. With a choice of quaint Kentish villages nearby, immersing yourself in village life couldn’t be easier, with Bearsted and Headcorn within a 10-minute drive, both offering a choice of pubs, restaurants, cafés, and shops, and both with train stations taking you into London is just over an hour, should a day in the city appeal. Or for days out exploring Kent, historic Leeds Castle is just a 10-minute drive away.

Leading out from the living space is a lovely teak balcony overlooking the large 1 acre garden where you will find an elegant walled terrace and garden furniture. Have some fun and enjoy a dip in the heated pool followed by a game of table tennis outside. This stunning, seaside cottage is located just 10 yards from beach, in the beautiful village of Kingsdown. Violet Cottage has been lovingly decorated and furnished to a very good standard. It appeals to many different guests including families, friends, couples and pets!
Surrounding the cottage there is plenty of well-managed, outdoor private space to enjoy in the summer months. Outside seating and dining facilities are supplied along with bicycle storage and a barbecue, perfect for al fresco dining.
Inspired by the surrounding landscape, Violet Cottage has a seaside theme and plenty of charm. There are three comfortable bedrooms all with sea views, one room hosts a kingsize bed, one with a double bed and the other offers a bunk bed. French doors from the living room lead onto a delightful terrace, with views over the sea grass to the pebbly beach. For the winter months, enjoy the warmth of the wood burner in the living room, plan the next day’s activities and relax in peace and quiet.
The local pub is a stone’s throw away which offers a wide range of local ales. Take a trip back in time with Walmer and Deal Castles, explore the promenade of Deal and take a day trip to France from Dover. "Dating back to 1652, these two properties were originally part of a working dairy farm and offer a wonderful location, next to the owners’ home, in the coastal town of Margate. Farm Cottage (ref W43578) is a quaint, semi-detached, converted farmhouse comfortably sleeping 4 guests, and has been renovated to a good standard. Guests can enjoy access to a good-sized garden, an open plan living/dining room and a well-equipped kitchen, as well as a small chalk cave which is characteristic of the area and which the owners are happy to show guests around.
Stable Cottage (ref UKC3922), complete with its stable door, adjoins the owners’ converted farmhouse and is ideally suited to couples. This holiday cottage was renovated in 2018 to a good standard, retaining some original features including an exposed wall in the living room. Guests can enjoy access to a garden at the front of the cottage.
A short stroll from the properties will take you into the coastal town of Margate where local attractions include the famous Turner Gallery, Margate Old Town and Shell Grotto. Catch a band at the Winter Gardens or hop on a retro ride at Dreamland. Take a boat trip and spot seals on the sandbanks, or cycle the Viking Coastal Trail, one of the most attractive leisure cycle routes in Kent, covering 27 miles. A short drive will take you to Broadstairs, home to Viking Bay, with several fantastic walks, or why not visit Ramsgate Royal Harbour?
Broadstairs Folk Week takes place on the first weekend in August every year and it is only a 20-minute bus ride from the cottage. Don’t miss out on a trip to the historic city of Canterbury, with its dominating city walls and incredible cathedral.
