There really is something for everyone; golf at the prestigious Royal Birkdale, bird watching along the coast, and the very rare red squirrels at Formby. Southport itself boasts a theatre, lovely parks and Splash World, as well as playing host to a wide selection of events ranging from the National Fireworks Display, and an air show together with jazz, food and drink festivals. Liverpool can be reached in approximately an hour by car and Chester, Manchester and Preston are all within driving distance also. The Lake District and Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley can be reached in around an hour.

Blackpool is 9 miles away with Pleasure Beach, zoo, indoor water park, Sea Life Centre, waxworks and tower, or take a trip to Thornton, Cleveleys or Lytham St Annes, with golf courses, shops, bars and eateries. Wyre Estuary Country Park is 5 miles and within easy driving distance are the Lake District, Forest of Bowland and Yorkshire Dales (about 1 hour). Lancaster and Preston about 50 minutes. The two bedroom lodge has a family bathroom with shower and open plan living space with 55" Smart TV. There is a spacious decking area to enjoy on the summers nights. The Lodge is located just 1 minutes’ walk away from all the main facilities the park offers, including a basketball court, heated indoor swimming pool, an arcade and restaurant. The indoor facilities are open March-October and passes can be purchased for a small fee at the park’s reception.
If you like to be beside the seaside, Morecambe promenade is just a short walk away. It has a fantastic sandy beach, plenty of amusement centres, a cinema, shopping and lots of local eateries. The city of Lancaster is just 5 miles away with a fantastic shopping, bars and restaurants as well as the famous Lancaster Castle & Ashton Memorial.
To the north you can reach Kendal, ’The gateway to the Lakes’ in around a 25-minute drive, from there you are in the heart of the South Lakes and the Lake District National Park. Visit the famous steamers on Lake Windermere or the popular towns of Bowness, Windermere and Ambleside for a truly unique Lake District experience.

A short walk away is the village of Warton village with its local pub, where you can enjoy a traditional pub meal and local ales. If you like walking, Warton Crag is close by and is a prominent limestone crag which offers a fantastic opportunity to see views right across Morecambe Bay. There is a lovely picnic area at Warton Crag Quarry and many walks leading to surrounding nature reserves. The walk is within the spectacular Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Beauty. This region is also very popular with nature lovers, bird watchers and cyclists all taking in the shoreline, woodlands and marshlands (where you will also find the RSPB Leighton Moss close by).

The property is situated between Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire, which makes exploring the North West of England incredibly easy, and the motorway is just a few minutes’ drive away. The Yorkshire Dales offers fantastic walking, waterfall trails, caving, the Three Peaks challenge and stimulating cycling routes, and is only a 30-minute drive. If shopping and history is more up your street, then just 15 minutes’ south you can be in the wonderful city of Lancaster, boasting a bustling high street and food markets every Wednesday and Saturday. The south Lakes is a short 30-minute drive north where there are an abundance of outdoor and indoor activities, and tourist attractions to keep you busy! Beach 5 miles.
