Outside, the enclosed garden and terrace overlooking the equestrian arena, amongst the backdrop of the beautiful Malvern Hills, makes the perfect place to kick back and unwind with a glass of wine following a busy day’s exploration.
The property is located in the grounds of Hillview Arena and Stables, and you are directly beside a bridle path. The owners offer riding holidays by prior arrangement. Here, your horse can be accommodated during your stay at the cottage, in the 12x12 stables or fenced turnout area. You would also have access to use of the two arenas and show jumps. Whitewells Farm were the first holiday cottages in Herefordshire to have been converted from existing farm buildings into individual self-catering holiday homes in 1978. They all feature original beams throughout, half-cruck trusses and some have vaulted ceilings and beamed room divisions. Situated in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, Whitewells Farm has a collection of individually styled barn conversions for you to stay in. Saddlestones was converted from the old milking parlour and stable, and has an upside down layout. The entrance hall leads to two beamed bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and vanity unit, and the other, a very spacious room with two single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a bath and overhead shower. The staircase leads up to the kitchen/dining area and a large, heavily exposed beamed living room. There are wonderful views of the rolling countryside and the duck pond.

Being placed close to the main routes to Hereford, Worcester, Ledbury, and Bromyard mean that access to towns and cities in all directions couldn’t be simpler. Bramling Cross is a delightful and cosy cottage for two. Nestled within a private small holding of a larger home and is surrounded by fields and open countryside. It’s the perfect choice for those seeking a romantic retreat with an abundance of rural pursuits on the doorstep. Newly converted, this inviting cottage mixes modern home comforts, exposed woods, and cosy soft furnishings throughout. There is a small private terrace with seating.

Bramling Cross is named for a variety of hops first harvested at Wye College in 1927. They used to be grown in the area and are still used by Brew Dog Brewery who describe them as “elegant, refined, assured and understated”. This is the aspiration for the cottage. Sadly the hop-yards that surrounded the property were cleared in 2020. Being nestled within a rural hamlet, guests are not short of wildlife. Buzzards and sparrow hawks are seen here regularly with occasional visits from the peregrines that are resident in Worcester Cathedral! Little owls, tawny owls and barn owls are often heard if not seen. You will see plenty of winter migrants too - one of which is the bramling! It’s not just for the birds though. Bats use the main house as a summer roost, foxes, badgers and muntjac deer all live locally.

Located in the hamlet of Lulsley near Knightwick in the heart of the Teme Valley. There is a lovely local pub offering local ales and excellent locally sourced seasonal food. Nearby in Alfrick you can stock up on some scrumptious essentials by visiting the community shop and have a lovely cup of coffee and cake at the café. Should you want to explore your surroundings a little further, Worcester and Malvern are both within easy reach and Hereford is just a short drive away.

Further afield are the cities of Worcester and Hereford, both easily reachable by train, and luckily the train station is just 600m away, so its the perfect spot for leaving the car behind and exploring the local attractions by rail! National Trust properties surround the area and are always a must see, as well as visiting the cities of Gloucester and Cheltenham, the latter is great for a day at the races.
