Slightly further afield you have the ancient historic town of Glastonbury, famous for both its music festival and its Tor, it has a rich history to explore and uncover. The larger city of Bath can be reached in under an hour by car and there are plenty of national trust properties nearby to visit and enjoy.

As you step into Chestnut Cottage, head upstairs to the first floor, where a large open plan living space awaits. Welcome to Bridge Cottage, a beautiful riverside haven set in the hamlet of Henley, close to the town of Langport. As the electric gates open you will get a glimpse into the large private garden, as you drive around the corner Bridge Cottage will be waiting for you. Inside, on the ground floor, you enter into the large boot room and hallway, to the right you will find the spacious and welcoming kitchen/dining room, which is extremely well equipped with all you will need to create everything from the simplest meal to a sumptuous feast. The living room has gorgeous, beamed ceilings, comfy sofas to sink into are centered around the wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings after a day exploring. The cinema room has a large corner sofa, 75” Smart TV and sound system, so close the blinds and snuggle up to watch a blockbuster movie!
Upstairs, each bedroom has been lovingly decorated in its own unique style. The master bedroom has fabulous river views, double bed, dressing area, TV and en-suite shower room. Bedroom two has twin beds, TV and river views. The further three bedrooms are all doubles with a TV in each. The main family bathroom has a dual ended bath, separate shower cubicle and heated towel rail. Outside, the large garden is mainly lawned and has a fabulous patio area with comfortable garden furniture, the ideal spot for al fresco dining. To the rear of the garden, you have the games house, with table tennis and dartboard, many hours will be spent here having friendly (or very competitive) tournaments! There is a further chilled summerhouse that has spectacular views along the river and is the ideal space for some relaxed reading or a drink of your favourite tipple!
You have gated access to the River Cary and during the summer you can take rowing boat for a paddle along the river! There are many walks to be enjoyed directly from Bridge Cottage or head over to Langport, park up the car and walk the Parret Trail along the River Parret and enjoy the local shops and restaurants in Langport. For a dose of ancient history, head to Glastonbury with its Medieval Tor and eclectic mix of shops. For the bargain hunters among you, Clarks Village in Street with its designer outlet is a must visit! The beaches of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare are within an easy drive away for a dose of traditional seaside fare!

Old Farm is a stunning Barn conversion in Southwood, just outside of Glastonbury. Converted to an extremely high standard in 2021, it’s the perfect base from which to explore Somerset. Drive past the orchard and enter through the gates into your private driveway where Old Farm awaits you, through the large Oak front door the bright and airy living space opens in front of you to welcome you in. The central open plan living space has beautiful large doors opening to the garden, a wood burner for those cosy evenings and sumptuous furnishings to allow you to relax into whilst watching TV or chilling with a glass of your favourite tipple. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine as well as everything else you will need to whip up a fantastic dinner or just a simple breakfast. There is also a sitting room with large floor to ceiling windows, you can also sleep up to two extra guests on the sofa bed in here. Off the open plan living area you will find the fabulous bedrooms, both have double beds, hairdryers and en-suite bathrooms. There are fabulous walks in all directions that can be taken from the doorstep, whilst the towns of Glastonbury and Street are just under 15 minutes drive away. Glastonbury, famous for its festival and ancient legends, has a great mix of eclectic shops and larger stores whilst Street is well known for its outlet shopping centre, Clarks Village, where designer bargains are to be found! Within an hour’s drive you have a wealth of National Trust properties to explore as well as fun days out at the likes of Longleat and Haynes Motor Museum.

Visit Taunton, the county town of Somerset, historical houses and gardens including Montacute House, Forde Abbey, Hestercombe Gardens and Barrington Court, or take a trip to Minehead on the nostalgic West Somerset Steam Railway. Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills are well worth a visit, as well as a trip to the south to explore the Jurassic Coast between Seaton and Bridport, taking in Lyme Regis. Inland, there is Clarkes Village for some retail therapy, Glastonbury Tor, Somerset Levels, Cheddar Gorge and the spa city of Bath. After spending the day exploring many attractions, return to this delightful property and snuggle up in front of the woodburner, set in a lovely inglenook with bread oven. Beach 20 miles. Located in the quiet back streets of the pretty medieval village of Dunster, Mill Haven offers flexible and well-appointed holiday accommodation. A converted bungalow, this detached house benefits from two bedrooms on the ground floor and two bedrooms on the first floor. There is an open-plan living room and a further second living room, as well as a lovely conservatory with a dining area to look over the well-maintained gardens. Mill haven is perfectly situated so you can walk into Dunster to sample all the delights including the imposing Dunster Castle (NT). During early December, the Dunster Candlelight Festival is well worth a visit. There are many highlights to enjoy during your stay in the area. In Minehead, there is the main train station or take the famous West Somerset Steam Railway, which travels along the coast and then inland to Bishops Lydeard. There is also a beach at Minehead and a promenade, where you can enjoy a walk and an ice cream. Take regular bus services along the coast to such highlights as Porlock and Lynton and Lynmouth. If you are coming with children, a day ticket can be purchased for Butlins on the seafront. Great walking opportunities can be found in the area on both the South West Coast Path and within Exmoor National Park. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor to enjoy. Beach 2 miles.
