    This is a great sized house for social get togethers; on the ground floor you have a large open plan living room with a dining table for eight so that you can enjoy meals together. Comfortable sofas in front of the TV are ideal for winding down after a busy day exploring. The adjoining kitchen is well equipped, making this a home from home where you can create all your favourite meals. There are four good sized bedrooms, all well-presented. Upstairs on the first floor there is a super king bedroom as well as a twin room. Up on the second floor you have a second twin room as well as a king bedroom. There are two bathrooms, one of the first and one on the second floor, both with baths with showers over. At the rear of the property you have an adjoining garage for your use as well as an additional parking space in front of the garage door, which is a great bonus in a popular seaside town where parking can be tricky.
    Just a few doors away you have a small convenience store, ideal for grabbing essentials as well as food and drinks. Cafés, restaurants, bars and an array of shops, as well as the train station, are all within a 5-10 minute walk away. Here in Scarborough there are two bays, North Bay Beach sweeps in a crescent lined with colourful beach huts from the Sea Life Centre nearby. You can walk from the North Bay all the way along the promenade to the busier South Bay. Both bays have lovely, large sandy beaches making them perfect for your family holiday. There is also Scarborough Castle and the funfair on the seafront. Peasholm Park is wonderful to discover, you can hire pedalos and rowing boats to go around the lake and see the stunning oriental gardens. Scarborough is famous for its theatres. There is an outdoor theatre which stages concerts by some of music’s big names, and then there is the Stephen Joseph Theatre which is famous for the premieres of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays. The Alpamare waterpark is great for all ages, with its fantastic wave pool and waterslides, as well as a large heated outdoor infinity pool. Keep younger children entertained with the ’splash and play’ area. For adults there is a spa where you can relax and be pampered. The heated outdoor pools are warm enough to enjoy through all of the seasons. Further along the coast you also have Ravenscar, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Bridlington to discover.
    There is so much to see and do you are sure to be spoilt for choice, this is a great destination all year round. For dog owners many of the cafés and pubs in this area welcome dogs, and there are some fabulous walking trails over the nearby National Park to enjoy. As well as Scarborough’s beaches you have the glorious coastline to discover – most of the beaches are either dog friendly or have dog friendly sections.     The property is situated within a short stroll down to the north bay beach or to the popular waterpark with a fun splash pool and wave machine. A wildlife pond and the sea can also be seen from the garden. Oliver’s View is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in an idyllic village location. The village has a good bus service that runs between Whitby and Scarborough, and it also has two village pubs that serves food, one The Blacksmith’s Arms, owned by the Duchy of Lancaster, famously hosted Her Majesty the Queen for lunch!

    Lying on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, the stunning scenery and walks that are right on your doorstep are wonderful. The Cleveland Way runs down the coast as well as the Cinder Path, the old railway line track that ran between Scarborough and Whitby which can be seen from the rear garden. Lots of cyclists and walkers enjoy this route taking in the fantastic views and historic sites.

    Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Scarborough are just a short drive away, both very popular seaside resorts all year round and have excellent restaurants, bars and shops. Just a 10-minute drive and you can be walking round Peasholm Park or visiting the very popular Alpamare waterpark with its wave machines and splash pools. Scarborough is also home to the largest outdoor theatre in Europe where many international artists entertain tourists every year. The annual Scarborough Cricket Festival continues to be a real attraction to lovers of the sport. Oliver’s View is a great base to see what Yorkshire has to offer.

    The town and shops are within walking distance with a great indoor shopping centre and lots of boutiques, and for those who prefer the nightlife, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, clubs and a casino. For those who love a faster sport, there’s Oliver’s Mount racing track with high powered road race bikes. As you walk to the beach you pass one of the entrances to Peasholm Park. The park is famous for the Naval Warfare Battle where model ships re-enact a battle on the lake. It’s great entertainment for the kids and has been for the last 80 years.

    One of the best things about Scarborough is that it has two bays, quite different from each other. The South Bay is a traditional seaside resort with donkeys, amusements and shops, whereas the North Bay is much quieter and more relaxed. Half way between the two bays, the castle stands proud on the cliffs above. You can walk the full length of Marine Drive from North to South Bay and it’s nice and flat making it easy for that evening stroll. If you prefer, there are the open top buses that run along the seafront. At the far end of North Bay is the Sealife Centre and the open air theatre, one of the largest outdoor theatres in Europe where international acts play during the summer.

    Further down the coast is Filey, Flamborough and Bridlington. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton is worth a visit where you can see puffins in their natural habitat. North of Scarborough are the beautiful North York Moors, and Whitby, a bustling fishing town famous for Whitby Jet Jewellery and the Goth weekends. You are only an hour away from York, a beautiful medieval city where you can visit the Railway Museum, take a leisure cruise on the river or walk the city walls which surround it. Beach 700 yards.     There is a rich history of entertainment in Scarborough to visit. The Stephen Joseph Theatre (home to most of Alan Ayckbourn’s world premieres) to The Spa the largest open-air theatre in Europe where famous bands play.
    If you wanted to go out for the day and discover North Yorkshire Esplanade is only a 20-minute drive to Filey and a 40-minute drive to Whitby or Bridlington. If you wanted to travel a little further York is just over an hour but there are some beautiful sights to see in this historic town.
