The owners have given attention to detail to provide the comforts in this homely property, which is all on one level. The two gardens for relaxing are lovely if you want to stay in or a bonus to come back to after a day out exploring where you can admire some countryside views. Most of the windows have views of either animals, countryside or the garden.
    There are ample supermarkets, local shops, and restaurants all within a few minutes drive and the Metro is easily reached for exploring further afield. Within a few minutes are plenty of village pubs and only a little further you have Tynemouth with award-winning beaches and Whitley Bay, both with lovely promenades and cafés. There really is something for everyone in and around the location no matter what your age, the whole of Northumberland is easily reached from here.     The pretty little village of Felton is only a few miles from Alnwick Castle and Gardens, where you can explore some history. Fans of Harry Potter will also discover interesting facts there, since the castle was used in some film scenes. Located midway between Alnwick and Morpeth, Bertram Cottage makes a great base from which to explore this county, which was voted the best county to holiday in at the 2018 British Tourism Awards.
    Felton is very easily accessed from the A1 making touring around easy. A great golf course at Burgham Park is only 3 miles away, and the Heritage coast is nearby with miles of golden sandy beaches to explore. Northumberland has more castles than any other county in England, and all are easily reached from the cottage. The historic Roman town of Corbridge is only 40 miles away, where you can discover Hadrian’s Wall and see where the Romans lived. Morpeth is only a few miles distant and has a great collection of cafés, pubs and some lovely shops, as well as a riverside with rowing boats. The fishing harbour of Craster is only 15 miles, where you can treat yourself to famous Craster smoked kippers. A little further and you will come to Bamburgh and Holy Island (check tides). Amble is close by and has a fabulous Sunday market where you can find friendly locals and stock up on your fish or meat. After the market, you may like to stop at one of the lovely fish and chip shops or local restaurants, or even treat yourself to an ice cream at the shop along the way.
