There is an indoor, heated swimming pool which guests can hire for private use (at cost), and also the use of over 11 acres of natural woodland and grounds that form part of this beautiful location. The owners live on-site in the original period farmhouse, accessed via a driveway lined with rhododendrons through a small dense wood. There is a small wooded picnic and play area with a log cabin function room and a large charcoal BBQ, as well as another wooded area accommodating hens and a natural pond. There is access to a public footpath from the properties.
    Located on the southern edge of the Northumberland National Park and inside the International Dark Skies Park, Glendale is easily found on the B6318 just north of Haltwhistle.
    Perfect for guests who enjoy walking, rambling or cycling, these properties are within walking distance of Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site, and are situated centrally between Walltown Craggs and Cawfield’s picnic area, two of the most picturesque views along the wall. There is also a bus service (no. 685) which travels between Carlisle and Newcastle on an hourly basis, and Bardon Mill is on the Newcastle/Carlisle railway line with a stopping service in each direction every 2 hours.     Runnerfoot Cottage is quaint and quirky cottage and is delightfully decorated and furnished throughout, on entering the bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor and stairs lead up to a hallway from where you can access the garden terrace which overlooks the village. On the first floor is a peaceful sitting room, kitchen and single bedroom. It is a beautiful little haven for a relaxing holiday. The garden for the property is a small terrace. There isn’t a secure area to let a dog out but plenty of walks very close by.
    Gilsland is a small village, with an excellent local pub that straddles the border between Northumberland and Cumbria and is situated on the iconic Hadrian’s Wall which is the ideal location for exploring the Eden Valley, the North Pennines and the Scottish Borders.
