    The waterparks around Kielder Water offer a hop on/off ferry, Bird of Prey Centre, cafés, pub, picnic areas and water sports of all types. The whole area is just perfect for mountain biking, cycling, walking and fishing. Day trips from Kielder Kip Cottage make a nice change, and Alnwick Castle, 50 miles, is famed for its scenes in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey.
    The very historic Hadrian’s Wall is a step back to the Roman times and plenty of museums and history await. The small town of Bellingham is 18 miles away, and has several shops, pubs and cafés. Kielder Winter Wonderland is a popular event every December for all ages.
