Situated a stone’s throw from the Amble harbour; known locally as ’the friendliest port’, this delightful abode provides deceptively spacious holiday accommodation which has been designed and finished to a high standard. This holiday retreat is tastefully furnished throughout and oozes charm with beautiful, homely touches. Put your feet up in the cosy living room and settle with a tipple in front of the wood burner whilst watching a good film on the Smart TV. The contemporary kitchen/ diner to the rear is particularly well appointed and a great social hub; and to the chefs delight all the necessary appliances on hand to rustle up some hearty dishes for the family to enjoy. Start you adventure from Amble; a delightful, friendly, seaside town which has a selection of pubs and restaurants for that fine dining experience, as well as several independent shops and supermarkets for picking up any last-minute essentials. The quayside in Amble has a Sunday weekly market and is home to the Harbour Village where small independent shopping pods sell a range of arts, crafts, accessories, food, and drink. Head to the RPSB reserve of Coquet Island to discover puffins, terns and eider ducks, and take a boat ride around the island to see it from a unique perspective, while wildlife lovers will also relish the chance to explore the Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre and birdwatching opportunities are prominent at Druridge Bay. 6 miles North brings you to the quaint town of Alnmouth, a popular coastal village known for its excellent 18-hole golf course and its charming cycle routes. Stop off at one of the blissful beer gardens and soak in the glorious scenery. Further afield brings you into the thriving market town of Alnwick with its medieval Castle and outstanding natural beauty.
Alnwick Castle has been featured as a filming location in a variety of films, including Harry Potter and Downtown Abbey. Alnwick has various other tourist hotspots including Barter Books and the Magical Treehouse. Another main attraction is the Alnwick Gardens with its stunning landscaped gardens, the famous Poison Garden, and impressive waterfalls. Hulne Park is the perfect choice with 3,000 acres of pretty Parkland, Gothic tower, and breath-taking views. In the midst of the park, you will find a Priory, Brizlee Tower, and The Abbey - an explorer’s paradise! Number Eight has a modern interior with plenty of space for up to six people, and is ideal for families, couples or friends. This terraced property is only a short walk from the working harbour, so you can leave your car behind and walk everywhere - it is especially pleasant on a fine evening to be able to stroll out for a meal or a drink. Set along the harbour are some small restaurants and cafés, some selling seafood and have outdoor seating so you can sit and watch the local boats and activity along the harbour. Sundays are popular with a market in the morning, the locals and visitors enjoy a stroll amongst the stalls with a fresh fish and meat van. A variety of small pods are home to local business offering bespoke goods, lovely to spend a few minutes on a sunny day. Amble has a fine selection of shops, cafés and plenty of amenities right on the doorstep.
If you like a walk, Warkworth is a couple of miles and easily reached via a walk along the estuary. With its castle at the top of the hill and little bespoke shops, lovely tea rooms and friendly pubs, this is a lovely place for a lunch or evening meal. Alnwick is a 15-minute drive and home to the famous castle used for some scenes in ‘Downton Abbey’ TV series and Harry Potter films; the cobbled streets and history add to the atmosphere.
Further up the coast are the popular villages of Craster, Beadnell, Bamburgh and Holy Island, which all make a wonderful day trip soaking in the friendly atmosphere, chatting to some of the locals and enjoying some great Northumbrian hospitality.

Coquet Cottage is only a 2-minute walk from the little beach and pretty beach huts which, in turn, lead round to the working harbour in this friendly, small, seaside town. Amble prides itself on a strong community spirit and is known as the ‘friendliest port’. Coquet Cottage is mid-terraced holiday home offering comfortable accommodation for families or friends. There are two lovely fish and chip shops, a fabulous ice cream parlour and a couple of fish restaurants along by the harbour. Amble is ideally located to explore this diverse county with Warkworth Castle and village a gentle 2-mile walk along the estuary. The castle dominates the village here, and you will find pubs and cafés serving good food and drinks.
The Heritage coastline area, and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretches along the beautiful coastline to Berwick-upon-Tweed with miles of beaches and historic castles, make sure you visit Holy Island home to the Lindisfarne Gospels but make sure you check the tide tables to access the causeway. For Harry Potter fans, a visit to Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland, is 10 miles and is a popular tourist destination in the historic town of Alnwick with its cobbled streets. Alnmouth railway station is only a few miles, and from here you can catch the East Coast train up to Edinburgh or down to Newcastle or York for day trips to remember. Amble is centrally located for exploring in all directions, so a trip over to Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder National Park or up the Heritage coast are all easily accessible from here. Harbour Lodge is idyllically situated only 100 yards from the harbour of Amble,’known locally as ’the friendliest port’. Nestled at the end of a stone built terrace, Harbour Lodge and its neighbouring property were added in recent years. Harbour Lodge provides contemporary and stylishly furnished holiday accommodation spread over three floors.
The spacious entrance hall leads to a very well equipped kitchen/dining room on the ground floor boasting quality wood units with many integral appliances. A separate utility area with washer/dryer also offers useful space for coats and outdoor equipment. On the first floor there is a bright and spacious living room with sumptuous seating to snuggle in front of the large TV and where doors lead onto an enclosed balcony area to take in the sea air and enjoy the views. Cosy Cottage is a lovely semi detached property which offers an excellent standard of holiday accommodation. Tucked away in a peaceful courtyard of four cottages yet only a few yards from where the River Coquet ebbs and flows make this idyllic for a romantic riverside evening stroll.
The cottage is well equipped and immaculately presented throughout. A sun room to the rear has a bright and airy ambience to relax in and leads out to an enclosed patio area, ideal for a spot of al fresco dining.

Poppies Place is a fabulous Scandinavian style log cabin set in a peaceful corner of Felmoor Country Park in Northumberland.
This two-bedroom cabin is built to a high specification, with a lovely terrace to the front to sit, relax and watch the world go by. Inside you have an open plan living area with lovely furnishings, enjoying the views out to the park, two comfortable bedrooms, a king size and a twin, a family bathroom with shower and fully fitted modern kitchen. There is also a hairdryer and an iron available for guests use. The small on-site café and residents’ bar is a nice area to take breakfast, chat to other holidaymakers and is only a short walk from your lodge. There is also Wi-Fi available in the club house. There is a small grocery store on the neighbouring Bockenfield Park. There is a lovely lake nearby where you can watch the ducks and swans, and the children’s playpark and zip wire are sure to be a big hit with the family! If you fancy a meal out, then there are plenty of restaurants within a few miles. It’s ideal if you are looking for a great base to explore Northumberland, yet still have lovely surroundings and somewhere to relax after your busy days out. There is plenty to do and see in the area and there is wildlife surrounding the cabin, so it’s a real country retreat.
Nearby is the Northumberland County Zoo at Eshott which is lovely for the children to visit for a few hours. It’s a 2-minute drive from your lodge or a few minutes’ walk. The historic market towns of Morpeth, with its pretty riverside, and Alnwick, with its famous castle used in Harry Potter, are both nearby and have plenty of shops, cafés and pubs. The small village of Felton is only 2 miles away and has a friendly pub with good food, a village shop which incorporates a Post Office with cash back facilities and a highly acclaimed tearoom with a artisan bakery. Golf is available at Burgham Park, only a 2-minute drive, should you fancy a round whilst visiting.
Felmoor Park is close to the A1, ensuring easy access in all directions for exploring Northumberland’s many visitor attractions, towns, villages and beaches.

Druridge Hideout sits within a quiet residential area overlooking a pleasant green, close to Druridge Bay Country Park, where there is a nature sanctuary with many water sports available on Ladyburn Lake. Druridge Bay has rolling sand dunes which are ideal for those who wish to enjoy the simple pleasure of a leisurely beach walk along the beautiful seashore or have adventures on the beach with the family. The coastal village of Hadston is an excellent base to explore the 20 miles of Heritage Coastline, a region which is proud to have been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Druridge Hideout has been completely renovated throughout in 2022 to a high standard and offers families or couples a fabulous place to stay, close to the beach and amenities. The open plan living room with a large L shaped leather sofa and a built in media unit with a Smart TV. French doors lead from the dining are onto the outside decked area. The lovely kitchen is finished in a gorgeous navy-blue shaker style and equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay. Upstairs two bedrooms, the master with a kingsize and the second a family size room, both with walk in wardrobes and separate family bathroom. Outside is where the fun begins – pop on your cozzies and take a dip in the hot tub! A great way for everyone to relax after a day exploring glorious Northumberland. The outside area is fully enclosed and has a decked area and table and chairs so why not enjoy some al fresco dining too!
The traditional fishing village of Amble, known locally as ’the friendliest port’ is only 3 miles North where fishing and boat trips to Coquet Island can be arranged. 9 miles south is the ancient market town of Morpeth, where the river Wansbeck winds its way behind the town’s shopping area which offers a wide range of facilities. Alnwick Castle (used as the location of Harry Potter’s Hogwarts) has outstanding gardens created by the Duchess of Northumberland, which includes a lovely woodland walk, a grand cascade waterfall and a restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. There are train links from Morpeth, with trains taking 50 minutes to Edinburgh and just 20 minutes to Newcastle.
