All on one level, the cottage is accessed by the utility room and is a good place to keep outdoor clothing, leading into the open plan living area. French doors lead from the living area to your garden which is perfect for al fresco dining or relaxing with a book and glass of wine whilst admiring the spectacular scenery.
Westerton Lodge (ref SRRH) enjoys an idyllic and tranquil woodland setting with a large private garden. This detached Victorian cottage makes the ideal getaway, providing spacious and comfortable holiday accommodation.
Strathearn, 4½ miles away, is a hub for many outdoor activities and an ideal location with mountain bike trails or tackling one of the many Munros or Corbetts in central Scotland. There are water sports on Loch Earn, loch and river fishing and 20 golf courses within 15 miles, including the championship Gleneagles, perfect for golfers. The Victorian tourist town of Crieff is only 2 miles away and a good location for refreshments with quality places to eat and lots of cafés with home baking. There is a deli which specialises in local produce if you are planning to eat in and there are some interesting independent shops, galleries and craft shops. Crieff is an ideal all year round location to visit and holds regular events and activities including a monthly farmers market, Highland games, traditional Scottish music festival and the very popular Drovers Tryst Walking Festival. Keen walkers will enjoy the nearby Cateran Trail and there are numerous cycle routes criss-crossing the area. For golfers there are plenty of courses, including a championship course in Blairgowrie itself, as well as internationally famous Gleneagles, St Andrews and Carnoustie further afield. In winter the ski slopes at Glenshee are within easy reach and the cities of Perth, Dundee or Edinburgh make good days out. Cycling, fishing and tennis are nearby and excellent walking is available in the Angus Glens or explore the sandy beaches strung out along the east. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile. Give your car a holiday too as there is much to do on foot from your front door. The local shop has a café and there are opportunities to indulge in some bistro style food or fine dining along with a good selection of wine and whisky. There are walks to suit all abilities from a gentle stroll along the loch side to more strenuous walks in the hills, and you can join the old railway route leading to Comrie. The local golf club, Sandy Lyle’s favourite small Scottish golf course, has a challenging nine hole course.

Water sports, cycling, golf and fishing are all available in the local area and there is an abundance of wildlife to admire including deer, red squirrels and otters. St Fillans and the surrounding area is steeped in history and folk law of clan battles, outlaws and fairies with many historic houses, gardens and castles to visit. To complete your Scottish heritage experience, visit one of the local whisky distilleries offering tours and tutored tasting sessions.
