Cosy up in this charming semi-detached cottage in a marvellous secluded position on the outskirts of Pitlochry. The delightfully comfortable interior and extensive gardens have all you want for a relaxing holiday. Ideal for both couples or families there is a double bedroom and a second bedroom with a double and a single bed, for various sleeping options. The sitting room with its wood burner leads into a well-equipped kitchen with access to the raised garden. The views are marvellous from the decking and hot tub, towards Edradour and the hills beyond, while to the front of the house, a small sunroom leads onto a patio, which catches the afternoon sun.
On the Pitlochry Path network, the cottage is on the doorstep of the dramatic Black Spout Waterfall walk, on the Edradour Path, one of several woodland walks in the immediate vicinity. Explore the many walks through this beautiful area, with routes through nearby Moulin and into Pitlochry itself or through miles of woodland and along banks of lochs and rivers, or up the nearby mountains and hills, including Ben Vrackie. Pitlochry itself is just a few minutes drive and is a year-round destination with many attractions throughout the year. Visit Pitlochry Dam and the Fish Ladder, with an excellent exhibition downstairs, interactive models on how electricity is created and salmon swimming up the fish ladder itself.
The town is home to the Caledonia Etape, an 81-mile circular cycle challenge, which traverses some of the most beautiful parts of Highland Perthshire. In the autumn, the Enchanted Forest is a real spectacle and well worth seeing, while the famous Theatre in the Hills, Pitlochry Festival Theatre has productions throughout the year. There really is something for everyone here in this fantastic part of Perthshire!

It is 5 minutes’ walk to the local post office and general store, riverside pub, restaurants and an award-winning chocolatier with coffee shop and gifts. Close by there is a children’s play park. On the southern edge of the Cairngorms National Park, the cottage offers a perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty, making it the ideal escape from city life. Gushat Cottage, built around 1865, was developed from two separate buildings, cleverly joined together to make a unique family home.
Perfect for a family or group of six, this pleasant home boasts a warm and inviting open plan kitchen and dining area, and a comfortable living room with wood burner. Additional fridge/freezer and drying pulley in the walk-in cupboard off the hall. Sit at the kitchen table and watch the red squirrels and a myriad of birds feeding at the bird table in the secluded garden outside. Enter the cottage via the hallway and to the right is the lovely kitchen with open plan dining area. This leads to a large bright twin bedded room with en-suite walk-in shower and toilet. An attractive stairway leads up to the double bedroom and traditional en-suite bathroom with handheld shower and toilet. Across the hallway to the other side of the house is the living room with feature fireplace and wood burner. Overhead are the original wooden rafters. Another attractive stairway leads to the library with comfortable wing chair, small office desk for reading or catching up on emails. At the end of the living room two steps down lead to the spacious master bedroom and ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom, with large bath, a walk-in overhead shower, and toilet. The cottage is warm and beautifully decorated and is a truly lovely place to stay.
You are surrounded by wonderful walks for all levels, cycling opportunities, golf, and water sports on the River Tay at Grandtully. The popular market town of Aberfeldy is a 15 minute drive west. There you will find the distillery with visitor centre, cafe, tours and tastings, the Co-op supermarket/fuel station and an impressive array of local shops, bars, and restaurants. Don’t miss the famous Watermill bookshop and café. The Birks Community cinema screens the latest film releases. Golf, tennis, and an indoor swimming pool are available, as well as an impressive children’s play park.
Continue 10 miles west and you come to the breathtaking landscapes of Kenmore and Loch Tay with its popular water sports centres and marina. The bustling town of Pitlochry is 9 miles to the east of the cottage and a further 11 miles north is the House of Bruar which attracts visitors and shoppers from far and wide. Nearby castles –Blair and Menzies – add historic interest and cultural events.

In the heart of glorious Highland Perthshire, this fabulous lodge is set in a wonderful position overlooking the loch and deer park at Glengoulandie. This small country park covers 35 acres and is situated between Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, surrounded by stunning scenery – the famous peak of Schiehallion is just down the road.

The loch and surroundings are brimming with wildlife – geese and ducks are resident most of the year and a wide selection of other birds and wildlife are often seen, as well as squirrels, pine marten and of course the deer. There are good walks from the doorstep – take a circular route through the deer farm beyond the loch and back again or try more challenging options up any of the seven Munros within 10 miles; Schiehallion itself or Ben Lawers, the highest mountain in the region. Cycling and mountain biking are popular round here, with amazing views and challenging roads.
For a more leisurely day out, visit the pretty conservation village of Kenmore (5 miles) at the northern end of Loch Tay. There are water sports aplenty here such as sailing, canoeing, water-skiing, jet-biking, or if you prefer to stay on dry land fishing, pony trekking and golf. Good eateries and shops will complete a great day out. Aberfeldy is only a 20 minutes’ drive with local interesting independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a community-run cinema and an award-winning book shop.
The famous Dewar’s Whisky Distillery offers tour and sampling and there are riverside walks and white water rafting for the more adventurous. A Highland safari takes you up into the mountains to see local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles. This area has many historic buildings, castles, and gardens which you can visit to discover the rich history of the area. Shop 9 miles, pub, and restaurant 8 miles.

This area of Highland Perthshire is well known for outdoor activities with white water rafting, fishing, golf, cycling and hill walking available nearby. Relaxing walks along the River Tay or follow in the footsteps of Rabbie Burn up the Birks of Aberfeldy you are always surrounded by beautiful scenery. Beach 7 miles. This cosy, detached cottage is set in the small town of Pitlochry and offers an excellent holiday base for touring Perthshire, with the attractive towns of Blairgowrie, Dunkeld and Aberfeldy within easy reach. Glenshee, Scotland’s largest ski resort, is one hour away and a short walk from the cottage will give you a choice of bars, restaurants and shops. The property is just a few minutes from the River Tummel, famous for its salmon fishing. On the outskirts of the town lies an 18 hole golf course with wonderful views across the Tummel Valley. For family entertainment, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre is a must, Faskally Woods and Pitlochry Putting Green are also worth a visit. There are plenty of country walks and cycle paths with lots of wildlife to look out for including deer, wild birds and red squirrels. The historic town of Perth is only 26 miles away.
