Annie’s Cottage is a mid-terraced cottage located in a conservation area of the quiet and unspoilt village of Milton Combe. It’s ideal for walkers as there are numerous footpaths from the front door, or head up onto Dartmoor National Park for more challenging walking. During your stay, a visit to Tavistock, the historic port of Plymouth, and the interesting Morwellham Quay all make for a great day out. The owners of the farm are keen for guests to experience life on the farm and there are opportunities to see the cows being milked, feeding the calves and collecting eggs from the chickens. There is also an on-site shop selling local meats and other produce as well as some of the freshest milk around. Guests can enjoy the surrounding land with walks around the farm. There are well-stocked lakes for those who fancy a relaxing day of fishing.

West Middlewick Farm is located just outside the Wiltshire village of Nomansland. With well-maintained roads, the farm is in a great position to get out and about and experience all this lovely area of Devon has to offer.

The popular market town of South Molton has a weekly farmers’ market and a variety of shops, antique and curio shops, pubs and restaurants. Barnstaple, 12 miles, has a theatre, cinema and leisure activities, and places of interest include the Museum of North Devon, Pannier Market, 14th-century St Anne’s Chapel and 18th-century Queen Anne’s Walk. Other family attractions in the area include RHS gardens at Rosemoor, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Kilarney Springs, Exmoor Zoo and the Dinosaur Park. Little Meadow is perfect for those looking for a holiday within Dartmoor National Park. Located in the pretty moorland village of Hexworthy, this cottage is perfect for small families or couples, especially those wanting to take their dog. This detached cottage sits within its own grounds and has a small stream to one side of the garden.

The cottage is a short walk away from the local pub which serves good food. From Little Meadow, access to the moor is easy. The West Dart River runs through the village and there are some magical spots for picnicking and having a paddle in the river, as well as a number of wonderful walks to be had directly from the cottage, following along the river and up onto Dartmoor.

During your stay, there is much to see and do. Just up the road is the curious world of Pixieland, a visitor attraction/garden gnome manufacturer! Widecombe-in-the-Moor boasts two excellent, characterful pubs serving locally sourced food, the world-famous church known as ‘Cathedral on the Moors’, a National Trust shop, a post office, gift shops and several tea rooms. Castle Drogo, a National Trust property, is the last castle to have been built in England.

Within 40 miles are the two picturesque villages of Chagford and Moretonhampstead, with historic inns, excellent pubs, tea rooms, curiosity shops, tennis courts and the Miniature Pony Centre. Or, perhaps pay a visit to Princetown with its famous gaol and visitors centre. The market towns of Tavistock and Ashburton offer a very good variety of shops and local amenities. Within 20 miles are Bigbury-on-Sea and Dawlish, with a beach and nature reserve. Slapton Sands and Torcross are 22 miles away, or Torquay which is within easy reach.
