    Gardener’s Cottage (ref UKC3040) is a gorgeous, upside-down, detached cottage which was formerly the head gardener’s house in times past. Furnished with style and flair, this quirky cottage is wonderfully situated in a secluded spot in the grounds, with a private sunny garden and patio off the main bedroom where you can soak up the sun in peace.

The area is steeped in fishing history and the first Arbroath Smokie was said to have been produced in Auchmithie and has now become a speciality of the area. These delicacies can be purchased in the excellent fish shops in the harbour area of Arbroath, just a couple of miles away. The pebbly bay below Auchmithie is marked at one end with sheer sandstone cliffs punctuated by caves, making it popular with smugglers in past times. Arbroath is within easy reach with plenty of shops and eateries and there is much to do for the visitor here and in the surrounding area; take a boat trip round the Bell Rock Lighthouse, visit Arbroath Abbey or enjoy the magnificent beaches at Lunan Bay and Montrose.
