Portpatrick is one of the most popular little holiday villages on the coast in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway. On clear night you can see the lights on the Irish Coast and the sun setting behind the Mourne Mountains. From a historical perspective, during the Second World War, Wig Bay was used as a base for the flying Catalina boats, evidence can be seen of this on a walk along the bay.
