Galloway has 200 miles of beautiful coastline, wild mountains and moorland, pretty towns and charming villages. The area also offers a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy, be it visiting the local ice cream factory, Cream O’ Galloway at Sandgreen or the CocoaBean Chocolate Factory at Twynholm. The cottage is only a few minute’s drive from the charming town of Gatehouse of Fleet which offers a wide range of places to eat and relax. There are many attractions in and around the town including the Mill on the Fleet Visitor Centre and Cardoness Castle. Beach 1½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

They are located in remote settings on the edge of the moors with delightful woodland walks and hillside trails up into forests. Many quaint villages await exploration including the coastal villages of the Isle of Whithorn, Port William (known as the Machars of Galloway and presented with the Pride of Galloway award) and the popular village of Portpatrick with stunning views over the North Channel to the Irish coast. A trip to Ireland from Stranraer also makes for a good day out.
