Pittenweem is a charming fishing village in the East Neuk of Fife. The harbour is the main focus of the village, particularly early each morning when the fishing boats return with their catch and the daily fish market gets underway. Many of the picturesque houses around the harbour are of traditional Fife design with red pantile or grey-slate roofs with crow-step gables and have been restored by the National Trust for Scotland. Not forgetting the popular Pittenweem Tidal Pool, perfect for wild swimming. Pittenweem boasts two local pubs (one with take away), a popular seafood bistro restaurant with gallery overlooking the harbour, coffee shops, ice cream/sweet shop, gift and craft shops, hardware store, bakers and local pharmacy/licenced grocers and post office. Ardvar is a charming two-bedroom, ground floor property situated right in the centre of the charming fishing village of Crail.

Bright and spacious, cosy and welcoming, Ardvar is in one of the prettiest villages in the East Neuk of Fife. Crail is a fascinating fishing village on the East Neuk of Fife, featuring cobbled streets that tumble down to a tiny harbour protected by cliffs and surrounded by historic cottages. The Harbour Front is a popular destination for ice cream and a stroll to see the fishing boats, as well as for exploring the timeless streets within the village during the summer months when the Crail Food Festival is held. Not forgetting the popular annual Arts and Crafts Festival held in the nearby village of Pittenweem.

The popular tourist town of Anstruther is just a few minutes away where you will a fantastic selection of pubs, restaurants and plenty of gift shops. Don’t forget to visit the famous Crail Pottery Workshop for some beautiful local pottery.

Little Gem is an attractive ground floor apartment situated on a quiet, very small, residential estate, beside Ravenscraig Castle and Park in the coastal town of Kirkcaldy. The apartment benefits from stunning views of the ancient castle and across the Firth of Forth. You can hear the waves lapping on the beach when the windows are open. An ideal location for a couple or small family at any time of the year the apartment is comfortable and well appointed. There is a king sized bed with a built-in TV in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The coffee table in the living room easily converts to a dining room table and the kitchen is well-equipped for preparing a meal. It is a joy to look out of either the living-room or kitchen window and see the views. There are also grass areas and shrubbery around this small estate.
A short stroll from the apartment takes you into Ravenscraig Park, which has beautiful coastal walks and plenty of facilities for children. You can follow the Fife Coastal Route in either direction, Dysart Harbour which featured on the TV series Outlander is only a 20-minute walk along the shore and the opposite direction to the attractive seaside towns of Burntisland and Aberdour, white sandy beaches and walks along the cliffs. Kirkcaldy has lots of place to eat and places to shop and a walk or jog along the esplanade is highly recommended. In April the town hosts Europe’s longest street fair, The Adam Smith Theatre offers a regular programme all year and Kirkcaldy Galleries is well worth a visit with national collections of work to view including local artist Jack Vettriano. A day out in Edinburgh is only 25 minutes away by train from the local station over the majestic Forth Rail Bridge into the city centre, ideal if you or attending one of the many shows, events and festivals throughout the year. Lightkeeper’s Rest is tucked away down a quiet lane in the harbour town of Anstruther and has been furnished and equipped to a very good standard to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible. You enter the cottage into the attractive kitchen/dining room which has been equipped for preparing a family meal. There are two well presented bedrooms, one which has an en-suite shower room and kingsize bed, and the other with twin beds. The bright, first floor living room is cosy and welcoming with comfortable seating and sea views.
Just a short walk takes you to the bustling harbour front with local boats landing their catch and leisure boats. There is plenty of place along the front to take refreshment from local bar, cafés and an award-winning fish and chip restaurant. Anstruther has cobbled lanes and historic buildings to explore, as well as two sandy beaches and rock pools. From April to September there are daily ferries and boat trips leaving from the harbour side to the Isle of May National Nature Reserve, which is home to colonies of sea birds, including puffins, and the surrounding waters are the habitat of seal colonies, a great day out for all.
Enjoy lovely walks along the Fife Coast Path which passes through Anstruther, leading to secluded coves, picturesque fishing villages and award-winning white sandy beaches. For a day out, St Andrews is well worth a visit with lots to do to suit all ages. There is a Sea Life Centre, sandy beach and harbour, great shopping with local shops as well as high street names, restaurants, pubs, bistros, historic buildings and museums. If you like a round of golf on your holiday, St Andrews is world famous as being the home of golf, with a family-friendly course as well as championship courses to play. Even more locally, the charming 9-hole Anstruther course is a four minute walk from the cottage.

This immaculate three bedroom semi-detached holiday home can be found in a quiet residential area just a couple of minutes’ walk for the beautiful harbour of St Monans.
Refurbished in 2021 and decorated to a high standard throughout, you will enjoy staying in this lovely house. The open plan living room and kitchen is spacious has seating for six to enjoy their meals and leads to the conservatory where you can enjoy the views of the beautifully landscaped garden and the fields behind. From the enclosed garden you can see the sea and if you head out through the back garden gate you can follow the path down to the harbour. There is a slight slope leading down to the path. As well as plenty of cleverly designed seating areas in the garden there is a summer house where you can go and relax with a book. Upstairs there is a modern shower room and three bedrooms. Two of the rooms have kingsize beds that can be converted into twins if needed, and a single room. This house is great for a family or a small group of golfers.
St Monans is one of the smallest of the many picturesque fishing villages in the East Neuk of Fife. Located approximately 10 miles south of the historic town of St Andrews, with its world famous golf courses and University, and a wonderful selection of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, St Monans is the perfect base for exploring this beautiful area. Take a walk down to the harbour with its many charming 17th and 18th century pantiled houses that crowd the harbourside. St Monans lies directly on the Fife Coastal Path, so is very popular with walkers. The remains of Newark Castle, with its circular beehive dovecot are further along the coastal path to the west of the village. You can walk to the popular arts and crafts village of Pittenween where the annual art festival is held, within a twenty minute stroll. A stone’s throw away lie the picturesque coastal villages of Limekilns and Charlestown, both within walking distance. Don’t forget a visit to the quaint historic village of Culross, with its colourful old houses and cobbled streets, the backdrop to the famous TV series ‘Outlander’.

Anstruther is an interesting area to explore, an old fishing and historic town with red pantile roofs, ancient buildings, cobbled streets with little alleyways and working fishing harbour. There are two sandy beaches for paddling, perfect for exploring the rock pools when the tide goes out and all within walking distance from Pee Wee Cottage. There is a great choice of places to eat, from the Michelin star Cellar restaurant, to award-winning fish and chip shops, restaurants, cafés, ice cream parlour and bars. There are local gift shops, boutique and galleries to visit. In the summer months, from the harbour, boat trips to the Isle of May are available to the world-renowned bird sanctuary and nature reserve, famous for puffins, grey seals and other wildlife in the summer months.
Walk along the Fife coastal path, which passes through the town, to pretty fishing villages and many beautiful beaches and coves. The area is well known for golf courses; Anstruther has a challenging 9-hole course along the shore and many other links courses in the surrounding areas. St. Andrews is a mere 10 minute drive with championship and family friendly courses to play.
