Nearby attractions include the Hill of Tarvit Mansion House, a fascinating National Trust house and gardens with Hatters Edwardian Tearoom and a 9 hole ‘Hickory’ golf course, the Fife Falconry Centre, and horse riding in the village. There are excellent footpaths for walking and cycling with stunning views of coast and countryside, whilst the Tents Muir National Nature Reserve has a fabulous walk along the beach to Tentsmuir Point where hundreds of seals can be seen basking on the sandbars. Visit The Eden Estuary Centre and Morton Lochs and watch waterfowl from dedicated bird hides. St Andrews itself is steeped in history and has a comprehensive range of shops, restaurants, tearooms, museum and the Sea Life Centre. Perth and Dundee are easily accessible, whilst the wonders of Edinburgh are just 40 miles away. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

This charming, bijou, terraced cottage with a red pantile roof, dating back to 1780 when it was a weavers cottage, is located in the centre of the historic picturesque village of Ceres. Well Cottage has been thoughtfully furnished for comfort and ease, and is the perfect location for a relaxing retreat for a couple. There are excellent cycling and footpaths from the cottage door and the Fife Folk Museum is across the road, as well as the village green. This conservation village has a good pub and a hotel serving food, tea rooms, an antique shop, a family butchers, village store and the renowned Wemyss Ware Pottery. Scotland’s oldest highland games are held on the last Saturday in June. The picture-postcard East Neuk of Fife with fishing villages and sandy beaches are within easy driving distance, and St Andrews is only seven miles away and well worth a visit. This area is renowned for its golf, with a multitude of excellent courses within easy reach. Trout fishing is available locally (licence required). Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth are all within an hour’s drive. When you return to the cottage after exploring the area, you can sit back with a glass of wine in front of the cosy fire. Golf is also available nearby.

Set in a picturesque lane, Kirkview Cottage is a traditional semi-detached cottage in the quiet village of Upper Largo, on the southern slopes of Largo Law. This is a perfect location for a romantic escape for a couple and friends or a small family to spend time together and explore this most picturesque area of Fife.
Within walking distance is the local hotel with a restaurant and bar, there are gentle walks out into the surrounding countryside. The beautiful sandy beach at Lower Largo is less than a mile away. This ancient fishing village is famous for being the birth place of Andrew Selkirk, a famous 1700’s explorer whom Daniel Defoe based his book of Robinson Crusoe on and there is a statue of him outside of his original home. This area is steeped in history and there are many historic buildings, castles and gardens to visit, namely Kellie Castle, which makes for a great day out and dates back to the 1300. There are numerous visitor attractions and whisky distilleries including Kingsbarns Distillery offering tours.
For guests who enjoy walking, the Fife Coastal Path is easily accessible from the cottage, you can walk various sections of the coastal path and catch the coast bus back to the bus stop which is 200 yards from the cottage. For days out, along the coast is the bustling tourist harbour town of Anstruther offering a great selection eateries, from a Michelin Star restaurant to award-winning fish and chip shops. From the harbour front there are daily ferries and boat trips, between April and September, departing to the Isle of May Nature Reserve, home to colonies of sea birds such as puffins, and the surrounding waters are the habitat of seal colonies.
For golf enthusiasts, there are over 45 courses in this area including the world famous championship courses at St Andrews, only 12 miles away and the local courses at Lundin Links are regularly selected as the final qualifying golf course for the open championship. Kirkview Cottage is the perfect all year round holiday home, where you can relax in front of the welcoming wood burner in the cosy living room on cooler days, or enjoy al fresco dining in the pretty cottage garden which has wild herbs for you to use in your meal. There is easy access to fantastic motorway links and train stations, making this the ideal base for days out exploring. Edinburgh is only 30 minutes’ drive away or 20 minutes on the train. There is excellent local shopping in nearby Rosyth, as well as a couple of restaurants. A stone’s throw away lie the picturesque coastal villages of Limekilns and Charlestown, both within walking distance. Don’t forget a visit to the quaint historic village of Culross, with its colourful old houses and cobbled streets, the backdrop to the famous TV series ‘Outlander’.
From this fantastic central location, you can either head to Glasgow for the day, visit Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, or head to the bustling royal city of Dunfermline where you will be spoilt for choice for restaurants, great pubs, shops and entertainment. Drive over the famous Queensferry Crossing and grab one of the best ice creams in the delightful little town of South Queensferry. As you have easy access to the motorways why not head north along to St Andrews and stop at some of the picturesque fishing villages dotted along the very impressive Fife Coastline.
