Banff, ScotlandConstructed in 1864, this picturesque, renovated church building that has been lovingly restored making it a luxurious place for you and your family or friends to stay. Its exterior form has happily been retained, bearing clear witness to its original function, whilst inside a stained glass window is the central feature to the first floor living room. Other features of note include high ceilings, large windows, plenty of spacious accommodation and large mature gardens. The majority of the living space is to the ground floor. The open plan kitchen and dining area with sliding door opening to the rear garden was formerly the church hall. Recognised as one of Scotland’s top green spaces, the park is a popular spot for walkers, cyclists and families thanks to its picturesque surroundings and busy events calendar. Mintlaw hosts a wide variety of amenities including pub, takeaways and local supermarket.
8 miles to the east is Cruden Bay, which has a sweeping expanse of pink sands and dunes approximately 1½ miles in length. This sandy beach is popular with day trippers, water sports enthusiasts and for sea fishing. Here you can also visit the remains of Slains Castle, once a place where celebrities were entertained on numerous occasions in the 19th Century. One of the most notable guests was Bram Stoker and it is believed the castle is the inspiration for the setting of ’Count Dracula’. 14 miles south of Torreagles is Newburgh beach, home to a colony of around 400 seals, adjacent to which are Forvie Nature Reserve and Foveran Links, a site of special scientific interest.

Brechin, ScotlandDruid’s Knowe sits in a superb position on the outskirts of the little hamlet of Tarfside, in the heart of Glen Esk.

Tarfside and Glenesk are good starting points for some excellent walks amongst stunning scenery and diverse wildlife. A few miles west of Tarfside is Mount Keen, Scotland’s most easterly Munro. The museum is dedicated to the heritage, history and culture of Glenesk and focuses on the life of the rural community. At the bottom of the glen you can travel the length of the Victorian Heritage Trail, passing through Fettercairn with its Gothic Arch and local Distillery (where tours can be taken) up through Cairn o’ Mount and into Royal Deeside, ending at Balmoral Castle.

This Grand, 1860 Victorian Villa features a living room with wood burner, two sofas, a baby grand piano and TV with Netflix & Prime TV. Also on the ground floor is a private office and separate dining room with table and chairs for eight people. The large kitchen with table and seating for six people is well-equipped with everything you could need during your stay, including a beer/juice fridge and wine fridge. Leading off the kitchen is the utility area with storage, sink, dishwasher, washing machine & tumble dryer. A separate door leads off the utility area to the Spa & Wellness centre.
On the first floor are three bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room and one large bathroom with bath big enough for two (the jets do not work, but with the addition of bubbles and candles, you will have a relaxing time). The second bedroom has a superking bed and the master bedroom has an Emperor bed. On the second floor is a top landing with open sky glass view platform. Up here you will find a further two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom and a shower room.
Spa & Wellness Centre: On entering there is a comfortable seating area. You then move into the large open plan area housing a table tennis table, A seven-foot pool table, a computerised soft-tip dart board and an 18’ (5.5m) Wellis Amazonas Swim-Spa for the perfect workout. After your fun in the Swim Spa, why not then try the Smart Sauna?
Please note that the owners are currently adding a new shower & separate toilet facility to this area, which will not interrupt your fun and relaxation. The owners are also creating two separate mezzanine areas with small cocktail bar, along with a games area. These areas are not yet ready and will not interfere with any of the other facilities currently on offer.
A spacious enclosed rear garden area provides ample opportunity to relax. There is a fire pit, barbecue and garden furniture, from where you will see yachts sailing past on the Clyde Estuary.
Island Seaview Villa with Swim Spa & Sauna is ideally situated to explore the island of Bute for it’s fantastic, sheltered beaches and the famous grand architecture of Mount Stuart. Drive out to the ruined chapel of St Blanes from the 12th-century and a Bronze Age stone circle. The island is also famous for its birdwatching, where you may be lucky enough to spot the Osprey’s around Loch Fad or even a white-tailed sea Eagle at Etterick Bay. There are basking sharks, humpback whales, dolphins and seals aplenty.
There are many walks around the island, including the popular West Island Way. Bute is a superb destination for cyclists. Fishing is available on the island and around it’s coastal waters, as well as loch Fad where boat hire is available to fish for rainbow and brown trout or pike. Kildonan is ideally located for maximising the views, sitting on a promontory near the head of Little Loch Broom, which in summer is ideal for swimming. Badluarch jetty, at the end of the single track lane, offers easy access to the water. Badluarach is a small crofting hamlet, with scattered cottages, sheep and cattle for company. The adjoining lane leads out onto open moorland. The area is a paradise for hill-walkers and climbers, with numerous walks directly from the property and the renowned munro of An Tellach just 5 minutes away. It is equidistant from Ullapool and Gairloch. The coastline that runs along this west coast is simply stunning. It forms part of the renowned North Coast 500 route which encompasses some of the most dramatic and unspoilt scenery to be found anywhere in the British Isles. Miles of sandy beaches are interspersed with coves, tumbling rivers and high mountains. In the nearby village of Dundonnell there is a restaurant and bar which is open throughout the summer months. The park boasts tranquil valleys, rugged rock faces, forest, moorland, lochs, ancient woodland and a huge diversity of wildlife including red and roe deer, wild goats and many birds of prey. The park has also been awarded the status of one of only four Dark Sky Parks in the western world and when the sun sets, enthusiasts come to wonder at the universe revealed above.
