Glenlivet View is a well-appointed, comfortable, detached lodge, situated in the heart of magnificent Speyside, home to over half of Scotland’s whisky distilleries and the world’s only Malt Whisky Trail. With panoramic views over the Glenlivet Estate and Cairngorms National Park, this is a stylish and cosy home perfect to either relax or explore this wonderful part of the Scottish Highlands. Inside, the open plan living space makes the most of the fine views from the patio doors overlooking the Cromdale Hills. The tranquil location makes it ideal for ’getting away from it all’, a true antidote to the pressures of everyday life. Situated approximately halfway between Aberdeen and Inverness, just a short drive from Dufftown, there are many distilleries open to the public including the famous Glenlivet, Macallan and Glenfiddich to name but a few. A short distance away are many castles, National Trust houses and gardens to visit including Ballindalloch Castle, one of the most beautiful and romantic castles in Scotland. On approach from the winding driveway, you already get a feeling of how truly special this property is. Open the large wooden front door and step inside the spacious hallway, complete with dining area and exposed oak beams and parquet flooring. A warm and welcoming living room has ample space for everybody to relax. The Swedish wood burner and floor-to-ceiling windows only add to the modern features, while the stunning green oak beams add extra charm. There is an outside balcony area which can be accessed via both the living room and kitchen.

The perfectly designed kitchen, complete with electric oven, hob and Aga, induction wok and Quooker, is a haven for budding chefs, providing a wide selection of utensils and implements. This wonderful, detached house benefits from a second living room, affectionately named ‘The Nook’, boasting an additional wood burner, completing the warm feeling in this room. The property has a second outside balcony area, complete with hot tub and more amazing views.

The three bedrooms are aptly named after the region’s finest whiskies. The master bedroom, The Cragganmore, has wonderful east-facing views and overlooks the burn in the grounds. The en-suite bathroom is a real stunner, providing a large and inviting space for enjoying a long soak after a busy day exploring the area.
Glenlivet Estate has a number of waymarked paths of various lengths together with a series of mountain bike trails with varied degrees of difficulty. There is a number of nearby adventure activities centered around the rivers Spey and Findhorn. Within Speyside there are approximately 50 whisky distilleries many with visitor centres. These include Glenlivet, Macallan, Glenfiddich, Aberlour, Glenfarclas and Balvenie. Dufftown is only 5 miles along Glenrinnes and is one of the major distillery centres where you can join a walk visiting all nine based in the town.

There are many castles to visit in the area starting with Ballindalloch Castle frequently referred to as The Jewel of the North. The North East 250 route leads to Deeside for Balmoral, Braemar, Crathies, Drum and numerous other castles. Within an hour’s drive are the sandy beaches on the south coast of the Moray Firth including Cullen, Lossiemouth and Nairne together with a number of small harbours and view points for seeing dolphins on the incoming tide.

For golf lovers, Ballindalloch, Dufftown and Grantown-on-Spey courses are close at hand with a number of links courses along the rugged coastline. Around a 36-mile journey will bring you to Aviemore, a popular large village offering plenty to keep the whole family entertained. For skiing in the season, as well as Cairngorm, The Lecht Ski School is approximately 17 miles from the property with Glenshee a little over an hour making it a fabulous choice in the winter months for lovers of the slopes. The Old Boathouse is an exquisite holiday home tucked away in beautiful Highland countryside in the Cairngorms National Park. Situated a stone’s throw away from the River Spey, within the Tulchan Estate east of Grantown-on-Spey, The Old Boathouse is perfect for those wanting outdoor pursuits nearby and generally reconnect with the great outdoors. Renovated to a very high standard, The Old Boathouse is a luxury lodge within its own large enclosed plot. Surrounded by Highland nature, there are many locals that visit the garden throughout the day and night including red squirrels, pine martens, red deer and a wide array of bird life. This luxury property welcomes dogs, and the garden, as well as the local area for walks, is an absolute paradise for them to run around in. The garden also boasts a charcoal barbecue and patio area with garden furniture, but the piste de resistance is the welcoming hot tub.

Entering the property through the front door you’re lured to the right where there is large living/dining room with a wood burner taking centre stage. This living space is set-up round the fire, and is the perfect room to relax in after a meal and a long day either fishing on the river or exploring the national park. There are stairs up to the master suite from the living/dining area, but first there is another room beyond on the ground floor; a large conservatory with a Smart TV.

Up the stairs, the master suite has a super kingsize bed that can also be a zip and link if needed. The former dressing room that links the bedroom to the en-suite shower room has been renovated into a further sleeping area with twin beds, making this a perfect family room for four. Back downstairs to the front door and directly opposite is the kitchen with extra breakfast table. Like the entire house, it is decorated to a very high standard. There are two further bedrooms downstairs, both with en-suite shower rooms and Smart TVs. An exciting feature of the house is the games room which is accessed from the garden. It has a table tennis table and a galleried living area with yet another large Smart TV.

With some of the best fly fishing in Scotland available only a short walk away, permits available through the Tulchan Estate, and other excellent beats only a few miles away, including at Ballindalloch, The Old Boathouse is an excellent choice for fishing parties. Because of its position in the Cairngorms National Park, it also caters for families and groups of friends that want to get outdoors exploring on foot, by bike and also on skis. There’s also the Speyside distilleries to visit only a few miles down river, and many interesting towns and villages to roam around. You will be well placed for winter sports at the Lecht Ski Centre, or enjoy the activities on offer at the surrounding Glenlivet Estate. Here you can walk or cycle the many paths, all whilst appreciating the stunning Scottish scenery and local wildlife.
From Hawthorn House you can easily access the famous Scottish Whisky Trail, with the Glenlivet distillery only 5 miles away and many other distilleries located in and around Dufftown, approximately 18 miles away. The diverse town of Aviemore, situated in the Cairngorms National Park, is 25 miles away and provides a fun filled family day out. Whether you want to visit the mountains, lochs, the Highland Wildlife Park or the Landmark Forest Adventure Park, you will find something for everyone under an hour’s drive away. The Queens Scottish residence, Braemar in Royal Deeside, is approximately 30 miles away. Explore this historical region and see how the Royal Family live. Situated in the heart of Grantown-on-Spey, this charming, semi-detached holiday cottage is set back off the green and offers guests a good level of space. On the ground floor there is a kitchen/dining room with a cosy wood burner, living room with further wood burner and French doors leading to the garden, and a bathroom. On the first floor there is a shower room and two bedrooms; one with a double and a single bed, and one with a kingsize bed. Outside there is a lawned garden and on-site parking for 1 car.

Grantown-on-Spey is situated halfway between the Cairngorm and Lecht ski areas. This location is very popular in winter with skiers and snowboarders. The town has a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars which are all just a short walk from the cottage. There is a superb 18-hole golf course, and the Grantown Heritage Museum is worth a visit. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

This lovely detached cottage is set amongst the rolling hills and stunning scenery of Glenlivet, in the heart of the Whisky Trail. Inside, attractive décor combines with comfortable furnishings to produce a cosy and homely atmosphere. The entrance vestibule has plenty of room for storing outdoor boots and coats, and the kitchen/dining room opens onto a sun room at the rear. This in turn leads onto a raised lawned garden, complete with summerhouse and wood-fired hot tub, where you can sit back in the warm water and admire the wonderful panoramic views beyond the garden. The sun room is a lovely place to curl up with a book or to enjoy a meal after a busy day sightseeing.

Take advantage of the proximity to the famous salmon fishing River Spey for a scenic walk, or cycle along the Speyside Way, and be sure to see the historic Ben Rinnes Distillery, which was founded in 1826 with its iconic tall red chimney. For walkers, a path starting up Ben Rinnes is nearby, and the lovely Lynn Waterfalls are also close to the old packhorse bridge in the village.

Aberlour is a charming little town located just 1.2 miles from the property in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, famous for whisky, Walker’s shortbread and salmon fishing. The town and vicinity is home to a variety of attractions, including the Speyside Cooperage, numerous famous distillery tours, The Wee Ferm, the attractive Aberlour Victoria Bridge and nearby Craigellachie (Telford) Bridge over the River Spey. There is a salmon smokehouse, choice of miniature or steam railways, and Moravia Aviation, as well as magnificent Ballindalloch Castle and grounds to enjoy along with a number of local golf courses.

Fishing on the Spey is sought after and there is also trout fishing close by. Within easy reach of the Cairngorms or Lecht for skiing and hill walking, and also beautiful beaches along the dolphin-famous Moray Firth. Moss of Bourach is a fabulous central location for rural fun and exploration. Venture to the city of Elgin, home to the Elgin Cathedral, which is a stunning example of Gothic architecture, as well as the Duffus Castle, which is a beautiful medieval castle.
