Visit nearby Killiecrankie, where you can stroll through woodland and experience the wonderful scenery of The Pass and the Soldiers Leap. Amongst the many activities available, are mountain bike trails, white water rafting, walking, climbing, golf, fishing, pony trekking and watersports on nearby Loch Faskally, with bungee jumping also available for the brave! Outdoor activities include golf on a wide range of courses ranging from St Andrews to the highest course in Scotland at Glenshee’s tiny 9 holes, climbing, hill walking, mountain biking on the local trails, bungee jumping, river and loch fishing, boating and winter sports at Glenshee where the chairlifts run all year from the Cairnwell Pass, Scotland’s highest road. The beautiful Victorian resort of Pitlochry is 12 miles away over the magnificent wilderness of the Moulin Moor and the traditional market town of Blairgowrie is 13 miles down the fertile Strathardle Valley. This cosy, detached cottage is set in the small town of Pitlochry and offers an excellent holiday base for touring Perthshire, with the attractive towns of Blairgowrie, Dunkeld and Aberfeldy within easy reach. Glenshee, Scotland’s largest ski resort, is one hour away and a short walk from the cottage will give you a choice of bars, restaurants and shops. The property is just a few minutes from the River Tummel, famous for its salmon fishing. On the outskirts of the town lies an 18 hole golf course with wonderful views across the Tummel Valley. For family entertainment, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre is a must, Faskally Woods and Pitlochry Putting Green are also worth a visit. There are plenty of country walks and cycle paths with lots of wildlife to look out for including deer, wild birds and red squirrels. The historic town of Perth is only 26 miles away. Some superb golf (8 golf courses in less than 8 miles) and fishing can be enjoyed in the area, and there are numerous castles, gardens and distilleries to visit. Why not start your exploration closer to home however and follow any of the pleasant walks available directly from the doorstep. For a change of scenery, head east towards the coast where beautiful beaches, high cliffs and quiet coves can be found at Lunan Bay, or the Seaton Cliffs at Arbroath. There is plenty of culture to be found in nearby Dundee, 17 miles away, where the Victoria and Albert Museum is located, as well as the RRS Discovery and plenty of good shops and eateries. This is a fantastic area for golf enthusiasts with a selection of country courses in Alyth, Blairgowrie and Kirriemuir nearby, and the famous links course at Carnoustie, all an easy drive. Just 16 miles from Blairgowrie, Perth has a wealth of cultural activities to enjoy including theatre, cinema, museums and art galleries, as well as interesting boutique shops to browse round. Walking is a popular pastime round these parts with the Angus Glens easily reached and the Cateran Trail (a circular 60-mile walk) popular with hikers of all ability levels. Golf is well catered for, with the renowned Rosemount course just a 5-minute drive away. Gleneagles and St Andrews are further afield for those who like to really test their skills.
Edinburgh and Glasgow can be reached within a couple of hours for days out further afield. The slopes of Glenshee are close by and cater for many activities, including mountain biking, hang gliding and abseiling for the adventurous. Golf is also available nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

The Victorian tourist town of Crieff is only 2 miles away and a good location for refreshments with quality places to eat and lots of cafés with home baking. There is a deli which specialises in local produce if you are planning to eat in and there are some interesting independent shops, galleries and craft shops. Crieff is an ideal all year round location to visit and holds regular events and activities including a monthly farmers market, Highland games, traditional Scottish music festival and the very popular Drovers Tryst Walking Festival.
