    Ironbridge, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, (approximately 32 minutes’ drive away), has plenty to see and do for all the family. Shrewsbury (approximately 30 minutes’ drive away), where ’A Christmas Carol’ was filmed on location, is full of finds to be discovered by foot or by boat. The River Severn is a must, as is the café culture, the castle and the churches that dominate Shrewsbury’s famous skyline.     The Fold shepherds hut is set in its own wonderfully secluded field that lies alongside the meandering River Perry, on a grassy meadow known as "The Flash". With views over the river and the fields beyond, The Fold offers total peace and rural charm in the Shropshire countryside.
    Inside, there’s a lovely bespoke kitchen, including a large Belfast sink and plenty of storage. The owners provide basic condiments for cooking and a welcome pack waiting for you on your arrival. There is a built-in seating area and table, perfect for both indoor eating and games, some games are provided in the hut for you to enjoy. The bathroom has a large shower and top-of-the-range waterless eco loo. The eco loo is slightly different to a domestic toilet but much more sustainable. Lots of thought has gone into the hut and throughout, nothing is overlooked. For a good night’s sleep, there’s a delightful king-size bed with White Company bedding and handmade cushions and furnishings. In the main living area is a wood burner (it may be possible to have this lit for your arrival).
    Outside there is a fenced garden which includes a top-of-the-range wood-fired hot tub which overlooks the picturesque meadow and has views of the river. The Fold’s garden also includes a firepit/BBQ, perfect for cooking or just gathering around to keep warm on a brisk evening. You will also have access down to the river through the meadow. The Fold has sole occupancy of The Flash with no one overlooking you, and no neighbours - apart from the odd sheep at certain times of the year! Have your morning cup of tea listening to bird songs, watching the resident swans glide down the river, and if you are lucky, spot the occasional kingfisher. The Fold is the perfect place to hang out in the summer or cosy up in the winter with the wood burner roaring.
    From the shepherd’s hut, you will have access straight from the farm to the beautiful Shropshire countryside via a network of footpaths. As well as many local walks straight from the door. The Fold is also a great springboard from which to explore the wider area including the Shropshire Hills and historic Shrewsbury which is only a 10-15 minute drive away. Located in the tiny hamlet of Yeaton, The Fold is only a 1½ mile walk from the village of Baschurch which has a fantastic pub, several takeaways, a farm shop and a cafe as well as a well-stocked village shop and post office.
    The Fold is off-grid, and all the power is generated by solar panels and stored in batteries. Whilst we are confident that there will be ample power for your stay, please use the electricity responsibly and turn off lights and chargers when not in use. There are modern USB charging sockets.
