Welcome to Withies, a wonderful large holiday home perfect for multiple families or friends to enjoy both inside and out. On the ground floor you will find a fabulous living room with a wood burner and a large electric reclining corner sofa, the perfect spot to relax in after a busy day. Head through to the spacious kitchen/dining area that comes packed full of everything you need during your stay. The dining table is ideal for large family meals and can turn into table tennis for some entertainment on those rainy days or fun evenings. You will also find a double bedroom on the ground floor.
Upstairs, on the first floor, you have two family bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds, the second bedroom with a double and a single bed. The family bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, plus there is a separate wet room with shower and toilet. There is also a further double bedroom and a smaller single room.
Outside, the large garden is set up for fun and games, from the mini football pitch to the trampoline and the children’s play area. Inside this large, yet wonderfully laid out home, you have a beautiful entrance way with feature staircase and chandelier, a huge lounge with superb fireplace and woodburning stove, Smart TV and French doors leading to the garden. A second lounge/snug has a Smart TV and is a great space for the kids to have their own fun. Crickledown is set in the village of High Ham, just 3 miles from Langport. The Somerset levels are easily accessible as are many of Somersets other attractions. The towns of Taunton, Yeovil and Glastonbury are reached in under 30 minutes by car, with the latter being of note for its ancient historical links and of course the Tor which can be seen from Crickledowns windows. National Trust properties abound nearby and a fun day out for the family can be had on the West Somerset Steam Railway which runs from Bishops Lydeard to the seaside town of Minehead. Welcome to Bridge Cottage, a beautiful riverside haven set in the hamlet of Henley, close to the town of Langport. As the electric gates open you will get a glimpse into the large private garden, as you drive around the corner Bridge Cottage will be waiting for you. Inside, on the ground floor, you enter into the large boot room and hallway, to the right you will find the spacious and welcoming kitchen/dining room, which is extremely well equipped with all you will need to create everything from the simplest meal to a sumptuous feast. The living room has gorgeous, beamed ceilings, comfy sofas to sink into are centered around the wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings after a day exploring. The cinema room has a large corner sofa, 75” Smart TV and sound system, so close the blinds and snuggle up to watch a blockbuster movie!
Upstairs, each bedroom has been lovingly decorated in its own unique style. The master bedroom has fabulous river views, double bed, dressing area, TV and en-suite shower room. Sparrow’s Nest is situated on the slopes of the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and an ideal base for couples, walkers or for peace and quiet. The holiday property is attached to the owners’ home via an adjoining door and shares a large garden with the owners and their chickens, and with a view to the Wellington monument. Further afield is the historic town of Wellington, the Blackdown Hills and of course the open expanses of Exmoor. The coasts of west Somerset, north Devon and south Devon, each with their unique features, are also easily accessible on the Devon border with superb views over meadows and woods with cattle and sheep. 1 mile from the Devon border it is easily accessible from Taunton and the M5. There are many opportunities for exploring on foot or by car with footpaths and winding lanes linking into nearby forests and nature reserves. It is idyllically situated yet highly accessible for visiting all the attractions of Somerset and Devon such as Exmoor, Dartmoor, both north and south coasts, numerous National Trust properties and themed visitor attractions. This charming holiday property is attached to the owners’ Georgian home and is located just south of Chard, near the Devon and west Dorset border. The property has a large shared garden and guests have use of the summerhouse. It offers a great location to enjoy the best of three counties. To the south and within easy driving distance lies the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast, with the ever popular seaside resorts of Lyme Regis, Beer and Charmouth. To the east is Devon, where one can enjoy days out on the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with wonderful walking and stunning scenery. In south Somerset there is much to enjoy, including many historic houses such as Montacute House, Forde Abbey Gardens, Tintinhull and Barrington Court, to name a few. Inland, enjoy days out visiting Glastonbury Tor, Clarks Village Outlet, Cheddar Gorge or nearer to home there is some lovely country walking, fishing at Chard Reservoir or golf at the local golf club.
