Stowmarket, 10 miles, is home to the Museum of East Anglian Life, has a wide range of shops and restaurants and direct train links to London Liverpool Street Station. Bury St Edmunds with its cathedral, abbey grounds and Georgian theatre, the market town of Diss and the county towns of Ipswich, Norwich and Colchester are all within easy reach. Slightly further afield are the unspoilt delights of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, including Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Walberswick, Southwold and the ancient burial ground at Sutton Hoo (National Trust). Animals and wildlife thrive and really enables you to become at one with nature, whilst having a modern and stylish bolt hole to re-charge your batteries after a day of exploring.
    Located on the Norfolk and Suffolk border, just a stone’s throw from the majestic Thetford Forest, where you can enjoy endless walks through one of Britain’s largest expanse of pine forest. Why not hire a bike and enjoy long relaxing ride along the many cycling trails that also weave through the forest? Many seasonal concerts and events also take place in and around the woodlands and make for a great evening out. Thetford, 6 miles, was also the location for the filming of ’Dads Army’, and the museum for the show is a must see for any fan.
    To the north you find the Norfolk coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, that enjoys long stretches of sandy beaches and only a 55-minute drive away. Only 20 miles from the property is Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens, offering nearly 20 acres of tranquil and beautifully laid out gardens to explore, along with working locomotives to ride on whilst enjoying the scenery. Other attractions include Banham Zoo, which will appeal to all the family, with lots of animals to see including rare tigers, snow leopards, giraffes and the ever-popular meerkats. Popular tourist spots nearby are Bury St Edmunds 15 miles, Ely 18 miles, Norwich 29 miles and Cambridge 30 miles. All of these are available by train from Brandon.
