    Sit and read in front of the wood burner, watch some TV or just kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet. As evening approaches why not enjoy a home cooked meal or a takeaway, or if you’d prefer, take a stroll into the town and head to one of the local pubs. Either way, grab a glass of wine or two and relax. Bures is a peaceful town surrounded by beautiful countryside. If you’re into your walking or cycling, then you’ll be delighted with the fact you can do both from the front door! If you’re a paddleboarder then you’re in luck, the River Stour is a great location to launch from.
    The city of Colchester is located conveniently close by, and you’ll find that Pippin Cottage is a great location from which to go out and explore, in fact, it is just a 20-minute drive or 30-minute train ride away. Other local towns include Sudbury, Braintree, Castle Hedingham and Chelmsford all of which have different shops, restaurants and attractions to offer. The Imperial War Museum at Duxford can be reached in just over an hour by car and if you fancy heading into London, that is easily reached by both car or train, the latter in one hour and 15 minutes from Bures train station. With lots of day out opportunities, make Pippin Cottage the base for your next adventure.
