- Woodbridge, EnglandThe cottage, located in a conservation area, is set a short distance off the high street down a quiet lane. Both countryside and the Suffolk coastline are within easy reach. Renovated in 2022 to offer an excellent standard of comfort and equipment. Inside, you will find a few beams, along with a wood burner in the living room to snuggle beside on cooler evenings, or play some of the board games. The kitchen is well equipped to dine at home, and for any foodies looking to dine out, the local area is plentiful with many good eateries. To the rear is a lovely, enclosed lawn garden and further seating secretly tucked away with a lovely view across the beautiful countryside, with the River Deben flowing nearby. Just a stroll from the cottage is a play barn and cafe that families with children under 7 can enjoy. The play area behind the village hall has a skate park, and non members can book a session on the courts at the tennis club. A Short drive away is horse riding for all ages and abilities together with their cafe.
The cottage is a short distance down a quiet lane where horses can often be seen wandering by, and is within walking distance of the high street which is well served with a supermarket, newsagent, hairdressers, beauticians, vet and restaurants. You will also find dog friendly cafes where you can eat inside, outside or take away. They offer ready meals, soups and Friday night stone baked Italian pizza to order for take away. You can walk from the doorstep across the water meadows to the 14th century inn located in the next village.
The surrounding countryside in the Deben Valley is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with picturesque countryside. Woodbridge is a bustling market town with a range of independent shops, fine dining pubs, restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a swimming pool, independent cinema, sailing and glorious walks along the River Deben. The train station is in neighbouring Campsea Ashe with rail links to London, the coast and the Broads. The ancient Saxon burial ground at Sutton Hoo (National Trust), along with The Suffolk Punch Trust is 6 miles away, and the famous seaside resorts of Aldeburgh and Southwold are within easy reach.
A 25-minute drive away is the port of Felixstowe and its beaches, with the passenger foot and bike ferry leaving from Landguard Fort to historic Harwich and Shotley. Suffolk boasts many country estates for visiting including Helmingham Hall, Crows Hall and Heveningham Hall. Nearby is Snape Maltings which is famous for being Benjamin Britten’s concert hall. The Latitude Festival, held annually at Henham Park, and the Constable Country villages of Dedham and East Bergholt, are a 35-minute drive. The towns of Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Colchester are all within easy reach for a great day out. Close by you can visit Framlingham Castle - the famous ‘Castle on the Hill’, Shawsgate Vineyard, Bruisyard and Heveningham Hall, along with Easton Farm Park. Beach 12 miles. Set in the village of Kettleburgh, Red Barn Cottage is very close to the beautiful market town of Framlingham. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book, its 12th-century castle still stands, and visitors can walk the curtain wall and enjoy the fantastic views. A great family day out is Easton Farm Park, 2 miles, with plenty of family fun, including animal petting, indoor soft play and many more activities. It is also host to the Maverick Festival, held during early July, for the finest Americana music festival.
The Suffolk Heritage Coast is easily accessible by car, where you can visit Southwold, Aldeburgh and England’s most easterly point, Lowestoft. Suffolk is a walkers and cyclists, paradise with winding roads, chocolate box villages and stunning landscape. Sea and river fishing can be found within 10 miles. It is also close to Southwold and has easy access out into the surrounding towns and villages of Suffolk. Within walking distance is the village of Wrentham, with a village shop, pubs and superb café/deli, ideal for getting breakfast.
This country house has spacious accommodation with every care taken to present an exceptional holiday experience. It has large sociable areas, a warm snug with a wood burner for winter cosiness and some downstairs accommodation for those with mobility restrictions. It also has a huge swim-spa and beautiful gardens to enjoy. There is a porch with useful storage leading to the open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. The living area has comfortable seating here for everyone as well as benefitting from a Smart TV and huge bi-fold doors that lead out to the garden and spa. The dining area is complete with dining table and chairs for eleven guests, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you may need to rustle up a homely meal. Downstairs is a snug which can be used as a bedroom (includes mattress topper. wardrobe and blackout curtains) with a Smart TV, and there is also a downstairs bathroom with a big Jacuzzi bath and large rainfall shower. Upstairs are four bedrooms all with wonderful field and woodland views. Outside, make use of the bubbling swim pool/spa with seated jacuzzi area, jets and swim against ’pool’ area, there is a dry ’dome’ to dry off in with towel dryer and warm towels.

Country walks are available all around, and the sea is only a walk or short bike ride away. The Suffolk heritage coastline has fabulous beaches to enjoy. Explore Southwold, a fantastic seaside town with pier, historic lighthouse and high street lined with independent shops and boutiques. RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich heath, offering opportunities for spotting birds and connecting with wildlife, with excellent walks available. For great days out visit Snape Maltings, Framlingham Castle, Halesworth Museum, Yoxford Antiques Centre and Gardens and Easton Farm Park. Vibrant market town of Beccles boasts independent boutiques and chain shops, with an excellent collection of eateries, including fine dining to many cafés serving home-made cakes and savouries to delight many palates. The weekly market is excellent for all things local, and there is an open air heated outdoor swimming pool, popular with many local swimmers and gateway to the Famous Norfolk Broads National Park. - Lowestoft, EnglandCorton lies just north of Lowestoft, the most easterly point of the UK. Beachwood is set amongst a secluded woodland setting and has frontline sea views. It is also considered to be the one with the most private, quiet and secluded settings. The photographs of the interiors speak for themselves. The kitchen is well equipped according to our many extremely satisfied guests to date. Tea coffee and milk is provided so guests don’t arrive late and find they can’t make a hot drink. The huge decking stretches to the cliff edge with views onto the award-winning beach. Stunning sunrises each morning which, should you so wish, can be watched while you relax in the hot tub! At night it lights up via a button. String lights have now been installed which are on a timer, which creates a wonderful evening ambience. The beach is never busy which makes for relaxing walks in both summer and winter and is accessed via a lovely short walk through the woods. It is also a dog friendly beach year-round. There are no shops or plastic swings and slides at Ocean Glade. It is very peaceful, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. There is a pub a 10-minute walk into the centre of the village which serves food, plus a small shop which also sells newspapers and a Chinese takeaway that only takes cash. There is a shopping complex a few minutes’ drive away with plenty of free parking.
Beachwood is ideally located to explore both Suffolk and Norfolk. Visit the Norfolk Broads National Park, with its southern gateway, Oulton Broad, just a short drive away, with good restaurants and a wine bar. Lowestoft is an old-fashioned traditional town offering shopping, beaches, two piers with family entertainment and restaurants. The popular town of Southwold is about a 35-minute drive away.
